It retains everything that is good about the OEM intake including the cold air ducting and lightweight heat shielding airbox bottom but replaces the top end of the intake with higher flow ducting and quality inverted cone air filters to match. During our dyno testing the Elite BMS S55 Performance Intake performed the same or better than other S55 intakes tested posting gains of up to 10+ horsepower to the wheels at 25psi+ boost levels. Note the OEM S55 air intake flows very well from the factory so gains are mostly present at higher boost levels and higher RPM where airflow requirements are highest. In addition to freeing up some power turbo spool speed was improved, and there is an incredible sound improvement. You'll finally be able to hear your turbo spooling! Installation is easy and fully reversible. Includes BMS proprietary high flow filters that can be cleaned every 15-20k miles using an S&B cleaning kit and will last the life of the car. Our intake temperature testing found no significant difference from the factory intake during both sustained cruise and full throttle operation. Includes new O-RINGS for the MAF sensors to ensure a clean fitment and seal. In BMW's with the S55, the intake system is partially limited. The bottom portion is lightweight and great for feeding cold air to the intake, but the top portion is excessively restrictive. Working with some of the original equipment, this intake continues to utilize the bottom portion of OE ducting and heat shielding, but replaces the top with new high flow intake tubes and dual inverted performance cone filters. Extensive testing showed up to a 10+ HP gain to the wheels and allows for quicker turbo spool speed. Plus, this design gives you a great sound improvement, letting you hear both the intake and turbo spooling!

With CNC machined serviceable/cleanable nozzle inserts for precise fluid metering. Choose single or dual nozzles and match the flow rate to your power needs! Water/Methanol Injection (WMI) nozzles are determined by the intended power and how many bungs your charge pipe has. These nozzles are 1/8” NPT and screw in to bungs included on most aftermarket charge pipes. BMS "super atomizing" nozzles are designed and manufactured by BMS and are known for their great atomization and flow characteristics. The number on the methanol injection nozzle represents the approximate gallons per hour of fluid when at full flow. Generally speaking running two smaller nozzles is preferred to one larger nozzle for an equal flow to improve fluid atomization and distribution.
