Center support bearings help to add some support to the driveshaft in a BMW. Because it is designed to be a two piece system, bracing needs to be added to the center to keep your driveshaft in line and tight. If you are noticing excessive vibration or gear noise in your vehicle, it may be time to replace the support bearing.

Before ordering, check your driveshaft flex disc, or guibo, to determine if that also needs to be replaced. After all, since you have it all apart, you might as well replace all the parts you have access to.
