BMW Maintenance & Tune-Up Parts for BMW 5 Series E34 (1987-1995)

Stainless steel filtration is not a new technology but is quickly gaining popularity in the automotive segment. With the ability to filter down as small as a paper filter element with the ability to be washed and reused!

The K&P Engineering filter element is made from medical grade, type 304 stainless steel micronic filter cloth to provide unmatched protection against oil contamination and resultant engine damage. A one inch square of this material flows an incredible 1.9 gallons of oil per minute at only 1 PSI pump pressure. The adhesive used in the filter assembly process is good to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, far above normal engine operating temperatures. A super strength nickel-plated neodymium rare earth magnet is installed in the top of the element for magnetic pre-filtering of the oil. The sophisticated bypass is engineered for proper differential pressures and consistent operation, delivering a greater percentage of filtered oil while being very easy to clean. The twist lock design assures positive filter element placement and allows for easy disassembly, inspection, and cleaning. The quad-ring gasket doubles the seal between the filter and the engine. Finally, the filter housing is carved out of solid 6061T6 billet aluminum, which not only looks trick but aids in dissipating heat.

K&P Engineering manufactures stainless steel filters for a vast array of engines around the world. Staying at the forefront of design and testing allows this company to offer a top-tier product for your European vehicle.

Features:

• Consistent filtering across entire filter surface
• Superior ASTMF316 filtration performance
• 7 times the flow of comparable paper oil filters
• Magnetic Prefiltering
• Progressive rate bypass combined with high flow characteristics of the filter media avoids unfiltered oil bypassing the filter during cold startup and high rpm
• No more cutting apart messy paper filters for trapped debris inspection
• Proven in Motorsports, Military and Aerospace applications for years. Technology is FAA approved for use in aircraft.

At regular oil changes, clean to K&P's specifications for continued used - a true lifetime filter.

RedLine 15W50 synthetic motor oil. We have been using RedLine 15w50 Oil in our street cars and race cars for years. Hands-down, it is the Number One brand of high performance lubricant for BMWs. The ultimate high-temperature protection in Red Line engine oils recommended for street use. Good for engines that regularly run very high oil temperatures. Best for engines that run large clearances such as air-cooled engines or large-displacement, all-out racing engines that see occasional street use. Provides 25% more viscosity in bearings than petroleum 20W-50s. Not recommended for use in cold climates where temperatures are at or below 10*F or -12*C. Not recommended for street use in production engines that see sustained oil temperatures below 225*F (those engines should use Red Line 10W-30 or 10W-40). Turner Motorsport recommends this oil in the E30 M3 during the summer and for track-use.

Redline lubricants are designed for modern German gasoline and diesel engines, with high detergency allowing for extended service intervals called out in your vehicle owner's manual. Unlike many other motor oils, it include the proper anti-wear additives and a low ash content, so it's compatible with the emissions equipment of modern diesel engines. It offers great wear protection, superior efficiency, and reduced friction for today's engines. This is ideal for cold weather applications where 5W30 is recommended.

Conforms to BMW LL-01 standards.

Synthetic D4 ATF is suitable for use where Dexron III, Dexron II, or Mercon fluids are recommended. ATF D4 is similar to Red Line's MTL formula and can be used in many BMW manual transmissions where MTF or MTF-LT2 is called for. The D4 ATF provides significantly improved gear protection than most OEM oils. The balanced frictional characteristics provides smooth and consistent shifts for extended drain intervals. The superior stability compared to petroleum ATFs allows high-temperature operation without varnishing valves and clutches which leads to transmission failure.

Features:

• Provides G-4 level gear protection (suitable for transmissions and transaxles, like the Corvette T-56).
• Provides smooth and consistent shifts.
• More stable than petroleum fluids; suitable for extended drain intervals.
• Does not varnish at high temperatures.
• Improved cold weather characteristics.
