Often an oversight in maintenance, ignition components are also susceptible to wear and tear. Spark Plugs can accumulate carbon, reducing the spark intensity and it's ability to properly ignite the air/fuel mixture, leading to misfires and generally declining performance.  The timing belt on the M20 engine should be replaced every 50,000 miles. The Gates Racing's timing belt this kit includes  is constructed of HNBR elastomeric composites. That being said, they are 300% stronger than the OE belt & deliver up to three times the heat resistance. Also included in this kit are the following:

The OEM INA Tensioner Bearing allows the belt tensioner arm to rotate and apply pressure to the serpentine belt. With a bad bearing, the arm may seize up and prevent the tensioner from working properly.
