Often an oversight in maintenance, ignition components are also susceptible to wear and tear. Spark Plugs can accumulate carbon, reducing the spark intensity and it's ability to properly ignite the air/fuel mixture, leading to misfires and generally declining performance. Other ignition components, such as coils, boots, wires, caps, and rotors, can also wear out over time due to factors like heat and contamination, preventing the current from reaching the spark plug.
To start over fresh with all new components, we now offer these Ignition Service Kits. Each kit comes with brand new OE quality components, replacing any potential fault points in your ignition system for peak performance!
See kit contents below for a complete list of included components.
These are the replacement drive belts used in our Turner Pulley Kit on the S85 V10 engine (E60 M5 and E63/E64 M6). These belts are shorter than the stock belt since our underdrive crank pulley is a larger diameter than stock. Because of the different lengths, you cannot use a stock belt with the Pulley Kit. This set of belts includes the main drive belt (6PK-1400) and the A/C belt (6PK-1045).
This belt set fits the following BMWs with the Turner Pulley Kit: 2006-2010 E60 BMW M5 2004-2011 E63 E64 BMW M6 Show More Show Less
This cooling overhaul will cover just about everything you could replace on the 535's cooling system. We start with the basic water pump and thermostat bundle. These are already vital to the health and durability of the N54 engine. But to properly maintain these cars for the long term, the rest of the cooling system must be refreshed and preventatively replaced. Here you can add a radiator, expansion tank, 535 cooling hoses, and the BMW antifreeze. This package fits 535 with an automatic transmission.
The sophisticated electronics of the ECU and water pump means catastrophic overheating should be a thing of the past. But the downside is that the electronics can shut down without any warning or symptoms. And troubleshooting is equally frustrating since the water pump electronics are not readable or serviceable. There are several clues to a faulty thermostat or water pump - the fan runs at full speed all the time (even immediately on a cold start), pending (soft) fault code for low coolant flow, or the water pump can be heard running constantly. But when the pump fails it's an immediate shut down of the engine which can be a major inconvenience and lead to additional repairs that might have been avoided with preventative maintance. We recommend a full cooling system overhaul on the E60 535 every 80-90,000 miles and to check for soft/pending codes at every 5,000 mile service .
Base Cooling Overhaul Package includes: + Genuine BMW electric water pump, p/n 11517588885 or 11517632426 + mounting screws for water pump (set of 3), p/n 11517602123 + OEM Behr thermostat, p/n 11537549476 + Original BMW connecting hose from thermostat to water pump, p/n 11537545665 + OEM-style hose clamps for hose (x 2)
The water pump on the N54 engine has more cooling responsibilities than ever before. Not only must it provide cooling for the engine, but it's also pumping fluid used to cool the turbocharger oil and transmission oil. The good news is that the pump only works when, and only as much, as it needs to. That means the system can actually stop the pump when it doesn't need to be running. The bad news is that it's now an electrical part, so a failure is usually immediate and with no warning. The preventative replacement is your only insurance from a very inconvenient and costly breakdown in the future. Plus you get the very latest BMW water pump design with any improvements they've made since your original pump was installed.
Cooling Hoses With regular driving the hoses should last a very long time. Even the plastic connectors seem to be holding up well. But as a preventative measure new hoses are recommended. We have also seen issues with re-using hoses as the spring connectors get weak over time and may not have the strength to hold the hose in place. They seem to have a tough time holding tension especially when they have been removed and reinstalled. In the interests of a thorough overhaul we recommend replacing these 335 water hoses during this job (see diagram):

17127565075, lower radiator hose

Just like the rest of your vehicle's major systems, the cooling system must also be addressed periodically to ensure proper cooling and component reliability. Plastic and rubber components become brittle and prone to splitting or cracking after long periods of heating and cooling cycles, especially in colder climates! The coolant itself can degrade or become contaminated, leading to potential corrosion or freezing issues. Finally, thermostats and sensors can fail completely, preventing proper cooling and/or coolant temperature readings to become inaccurate.
To make sure you are not left stranded on the side of the road with an overheated engine, we have put together this Basic Cooling System Service kit. This kit contains all of the most-likely-to-fail components, giving you peace of mind knowing your engine will continue to run cool for another 60,000+ miles.

The N55 in your BMW is an interference engine, meaning that if the timing chain were to fail your engine would suffer catastrophic damage due to valvetrain components colliding with each other. Over time the timing chain will start to wear and stretch, potentially causing it to skip timing or just completely fail. Also, the timing tensioners themselves could fail! Early symptoms of timing chain wear include front end noise not associated with VANOS, or slapping noises coming from the timing cover. Turner Motorsport has assembled a complete kit that includes everything necessary, as well as small hardware, to completely service the timing on your N55. Tools needed to do the job can be found on our site as well.

The LL-01 BMW oil specification marks stringent requirements from BMW that oil must meet in order to receive this approval rating. Still used today in many BMW NA and Turbo engines, LL-01 TwinPower Turbo 5w-30 and all LL-01 approved oils are great for ensuring proper wear protection and low fuel consumption, even during high oil change intervals. When BMW LL-04 oil was developed, it was not approved at the time for use in the US. This was due to the high sulfur and ethanol content in US fuels. Originally used mostly for diesel engines and euro motors, LL-04 demand is now starting to pick up with changes in US fuels such as lower sulfur content since 2014 and thanks to LL-04 and LL-01 being interchangeable/compatible. The slight advantage of LL-04 over LL-01 is due to LL-04's higher ZDDP levels and HTHS ratings. This allows for increased engine protection at higher temperatures and engine pressures. In addition, LL-04 also has a lower SAPS level which benefits direct-injection engines, including all BMW turbo engines since 2007.

The cooling system is one of the major weak points on the N62 engine in the 550i/650i. The water pump itself won't last more than 100,000 miles in most cases and the engine itself is prone to coolant leaks from multiple locations. So a major 550i cooling system overhaul should be planned before the 100,000 mile mark. Aside from obvious leaks the 550i water pump will also squeal or screech indicating the bearings inside have worn. This package covers the water pump, thermostat, and radiator for the 2006-2010 E60 550i and E63 650i with a manual transmission.
The entire cooling system on the 550i is susceptible to leaks and poor performance. The condition of the rest of the cooling system should be considered along with the water pump and thermostat. Replacing the water pump will expose the front of the V8 engine where more problem areas may appear so plan accordingly. The biggest problem is the V8 valley pan gaskets and inner coolant tube seals. The tube carrying coolant through the valley is prone to leaking and replacement is a major job (see our valley pan pipe kit here). Additional items recommended to be replaced during the water pump job are: cooling hoses, expansion tank and cap, temp sensors, drive belts, and pulleys and tensioners.
Base 550i/650i Cooling Package includes:
OEM Behr radiator (17117519210)
OEM water pump (11517586779)
water pump pipe (back of pump to engine block) (11511439976)
OEM thermostat (11537586885)

This is a compete cooling system overhaul kit, which includes all the common cooling system failure parts bundled into a complete package. This cooling system package is for the 2008-2010 E60 528i/528xi models with an automatic transmission (N52 engine).
Much of the later E60 cooling system is strong and reliable compared to the previous generation 5-series models. But there is still the potential for serious cooling system and engine-related failures. On the N52 engine the electric water pump is the weakest link. It will fail without much warning and shut down the engine. Preventative replacement is the best course of action and the water pump and thermostat should be done before they reach 60,000 miles. Several other cooling components are due for replacement by 100,000 miles to prevent other breakdowns. A failure in the cooling system can lead to overheating and catastrophic engine failure. Don't gamble your engine! By replacing these core items preventatively you are defusing what could be a ticking cooling system time bomb. And if you've had a failure of one of these parts, now is the time to refresh your entire cooling system.
Our base kit comes with the OEM Behr thermostat, Original BMW electric water pump with mounting screws, and the u-shaped hose between the pump and thermostat. From there you can add additional items to complete the overhaul - radiator, expansion tank, cap, and new radiator hoses..
E60 528i Automatic Radiator Options. There are two styles of radiators for the E60 6-cylinder and automatic transmission: original and updated. You can use either radiator as long as you have the correct corresponding parts to go with it. Both radiators are still available from BMW or the OE supplier Behr. If it were up to us we would prefer the updated style because it won't cause any confusion down the road and it reduces the number of potential leak points by eliminating an unnecessary fitting.
Original, BMW #17117534914. This setup has an extra fitting for the engine oil heat exchanger along with a hose that attaches to the water pump pipe and heat exchanger. In order to use this radiator you must use the corresponding hose. This was the original setup as the car was built at the factory and is pictured in the radiator image to the right. At some point BMW stopped listing this part number in their official diagrams and used the 209 number below.
Updated, BMW #17117519209. This is the updated style from BMW. If your radiator was replaced at some point after 2010 it most likely has this radiator style. On this radiator they did away with the extra fitting for the heat exchanger. When looking at the ETK or RealOEM diagrams it will only list this radiator but with a note saying you also need two compensators (spacer blocks, #17117520335) and the hose (11537519494).
E60 528i Cooling Hoses. There are a lot of hoses on the N52 engine. Not all of them need to be replaced during an overhaul but it would be a good idea. The hoses themselves don't wear but the metal spring clips on the connector lose their tension over time and that can lead to a leak. It's worse when re-using a hose after it's already been disconnected. Since our package includes the thermostat, water pump, and radiator we offer all of the hoses related to those components. Use the diagram on the right to see where each is connected in the engine bay. Evaluate your current hoses and then decide which ones to replace. One note about the lower radiator hose: when ordering a new hose you must order a new temp sensor. Do not reuse the original temp sensor as it will leak on the new hose.
This item fits the following BMWs: 2008-2010 E60 BMW 528i 528xi with automatic transmission
Over time, accessory belts begin to wear out and crack. This can lead to the belt slipping, squeaking, or even snapping. Replace your belts and tensioners on a regular basis to ensure you don't end up stranded on the side of the road with a dead battery or overheated engine due to a bit of simple overlooked maintenance. This kit includes all of the items that will need replaced such as the belts, tensioners, and hardware.

This package fits 535 with a manual transmission.

Ignition coils are key to the efficiency and performance of your BMW. With a faulty coil the spark plug is not burning the air/fuel mixture properly and that can lead to problems anywhere in the engine and exhaust (including catalytic converters and O2 sensors). Problems with one or more coils will cause a fault code but not always a check engine light. A misfire code may be related to an ignition coil but could be from other things as well. Sometimes a visual inspection of a coil and coil boot will give an indication of a failure. You can also move coils around to different cylinder banks to see if the misfire code follows a suspect coil. We suggest always having one or two coils on hand to keep as spares.
This is the current replacement for some BMW 6 and 8-cylinder engines built in the late 2000s and after. BMW has made numerous changes to ignition coil part numbers in recent years but has approved this part number to work in the vehicles listed below. It's listed as a replacement coil for N20, N55, and S55 engines. In March 2015 BMW approved it for N51/N52 engines. This part number replaces the previous BMW part number 12137594937 for the cars listed below.
A simple yet effective upgrade, these Bav Auto High-Performance Ignition Coils feature modified core windings that offer increased firepower and promote a faster, more efficient burn. The result is greater low-end torque and increased horsepower in the mid to top-end. When used in a properly functioning engine, a noticeable difference can be felt. In addition to better torque and horsepower, fuel economy is also improved! These coils come with new spark plug boots. From 1974 to 2019, Bavarian Autosport was one of the premier vendors for BMW and MINI auto parts. We are happy to preserve the Bav Auto legacy by continuing to carry their high-quality products into the future. All Bav Auto parts will remain unchanged in design and sourced from the same OEM suppliers to ensure long-lasting reliability.

Liqui Moly Molygen New Generation fully synthetic engine oil is carefully engineered, starting with a high quality synthetic base. What separates Molygen from other engine oils is the molecular friction modifier for reduced friction and wear. Because of this, Molygen glows fluorescent green under UV light, allowing you to easily find any leaks!
The fluorescent green chemical friction modifier smooths out hard metal surfaces, reducing overall engine wear and heat due to friction. Tests have shown to reduce the friction coefficient by 15%!? MolyGen oil is also a great choice for modern forced induction engines which produce much more heat. BMWs are notorious for leaking oil. Make chasing your leak easier with Liqui Moly Molygen New Generation engine oil. (Once you find it, give us a call - we can help you stop that leak, too!)

Red Line 75W90 is a full synthetic high-performance gear oil that is an excellent substitute for expensive factory fluid and an upgrade over off-the-shelf economy fluid. Red Line thoroughly evaluates the manufacturer's recommendations and only makes a fluid recommendation if their own product meets or exceeds the original specification. In many cases the Red Line synthetic will outperform the factory supplied fluids. We've been using Red Line Oil in our BMWs since we opened in 1994 and it remains our best selling BMW differential fluid. 75/90 is the weight most commonly used in BMW differentials since the 1960s, including the factory clutch-type limited-slip diffs (exceptions being M3/M5/M6 cars since 2001). We use 75W90 in nearly all BMW chassis and the custom differentials that we sell. It's great for the street where the polyol-ester base has natural lubricity and friction modifiers lead to smoother and quieter operation with lower operating temps than the factory fluid. We also use it in some track cars that don't already use the more aggressive 75/90NS fluid (without friction modifiers).
Recommended or exceeds specifications for API GL-5, GL-6, MT-1, MIL-L-2105E, SAE J2360, and Chrysler spec MS-9763. Matches the specifications for the factory BMW SAF-XO diff fluid (#07512293972). Show More Show Less

NOTE: For the N54, these plugs are 2 Steps Colder, while for the N55 they are only 1 Step Colder. When it comes time to change your spark plugs, you may wonder about colder stepped spark plugs as many others have. Colder spark plugs work by pulling more heat out of the engine's cylinders (making them "colder") and dissipating it into the engine's head, which is then cooled by the cooling system. Depending on how you have your engine built, these could be a great addition! Colder plugs can help prevent engine knock and prevent the tip of the spark plug from melting or misfiring. There are two rules that most people tend to go by when deciding on which spark plugs to buy: The first rule of thumb is that with every 100 horsepower added, you should run spark plugs that are a step colder than your stock plugs. This is generally accepted across the motorsports community but unfortunately isn't always the most accurate measurement of when you will need colder plugs. The second rule is to go a step colder any time you massively alter cylinder temperatures by adding forced induction to an NA engine, by increasing compression ratio, after altering timing in a major way, or by changing fuel types to something with a higher octane rating such as racing fuel. Adding spark plugs that are a step colder outside of these conditions, with no real change to the engine, can actually hurt more than help by leading to spark plugs fouling quicker than normal and by making the car harder to start in cold weather conditions. We suggest talking to your engine builder or tuner before making the change, or you can call our Turner Motorsport sales staff to discuss what modifications have been made to your vehicle and see if these plugs are right for you!
