Upgrade your stock oil cooler thermostat for improved performance. Swap your factory 110-degree Celsius thermostat for a new 70-degree Celsius version for faster oil flow and extended temperature control. With oil temperatures reaching 230 degrees Fahrenheit by the time your factory thermostat opens, initiating oil flow at lower temperatures proves more effective than attempting to cool down already elevated temperatures.

Elevate your custom installation with the ECS -10AN O-Ring Boss fitting, a crucial component that connects your ECS Tuning Catch Can to a 3/4" ID hose. This fitting simplifies your plumbing setup, ensuring a seamless solution.

Featuring a pre-installed Viton O-ring, this fitting is engineered for excellence, providing a leak-proof seal that resists the effects of oil and fuel exposure, guaranteeing long-term durability.

The 3/4" nipple is thoughtfully designed with barbs to secure hose position effectively, minimizing the risk of hose disconnection. Keep in mind that clamps and hoses are available for separate purchase. These fittings are sold individually, with most installations requiring a pair of them.

The N54 suffers from a weak point in its crankshaft. It has been reported that when increasing the power to the engine, the crank hub can move or spin slightly under an extreme load. This is most apparent under high-rev downshifts or in the case of increased boost pressure which creates more stress on the engines rotating assembly. In order to keep this from happening, the crank bolt must be secured to the hub to keep it from backing off, but this can be a tricky solution since a simple dab of Loctite will not suffice. 

Here is an easy, and cost-effective way to secure the situation; The VTT N54 crank bolt capture. This lightweight and durable ring slips over the head of the crank bolt fully encapsulating it, and locks it to the crank hub and eliminating its ability to spin. The VTT-CBC is 100% Billet Aircraft Grade Aluminum, Anodized black to protect it from the elements, and give it a stealth look. What's more is that it weighs only 1.3 Oz's meaning you aren't adding excess mass to the crankshaft which will avoid any imbalance or vibration issues.

While this is not a full fix for all crank hub spinning issues, the engineers at Vargas have found most issues have stemmed from the bolt itself backing out, and this is a great way to keep that from happening. Extremely lightweight at only 1.3 Oz's it adds virtually no weight to the crank which is important for balance and vibration.

This is an OEM INA Upper Idler Pulley, also known as the roller pulley or deflection pulley. The idler pulleys are known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. The pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. Replacement is a very simple procedure and can be done anytime the fan is off the engine (belt replacement, water pump service, alternator replacement, etc).

These WPC-treated bearings are the best we have seen! WPC is a shot-peening treatment at a microscopic level. It's perfect for sensitive surfaces like bearings. The WPC treatment removes imperfections and high spots, while creating a surface that retains oil better than the original surface. This greatly reduces friction. The bearings in this kit are original equipment KS bearings that are sent to WPC for treatment. After the introduction of the M52TU/M54 engines, BMW observed an uptick in CCV-related issues, especially in cold regions. Vehicles operating in extremely low temperatures often encountered a blockage in the CCV dipstick hose, leading to elevated crankcase pressure and visible blue smoke from the exhaust. To address this issue, BMW introduced cold climate-specific hoses with foam insulation, preventing condensation and facilitating quicker oil warm-up. The crankcase ventilation valve, known as the oil separator, PCV, CCV, or crankcase pressure regulator valve, plays a vital role in redirecting oil from your vehicle's intake system back into the engine oil pan.
