The reality is that most enthusiasts and racers benefit far more from increased strength than they would from a small decrease in weight. The VS-5RE and the Enduro line as a whole was introduced to give the enthusiast community the choice to choose what's best for their application. In our pursuit of absolute strength, the Forged VS-5RE was given dramatically thicker spokes, our thickest ever Enduro Spec inner lip, and a substantially reinforced outer lip. When all put together, the VS-5RE is rated at an impressive 2100 lb max load. A major increase over its Sprint Line counterpart sitting at a 1600 lb load rating. To achieve this level of strength, our engineers added a considerable amount of material to the areas where it matters most. This does come with a bit of a weight penalty, however a host of weight saving measures have been implemented to minimize its effect. Deep spoke scalloping is utilized to shave material from the sides of spokes without compromising strength. Outer lip pocketing, a feature only seen on the Enduro Line within the Apex catalog, does away with excess material on the outer lip between each spoke. Our aim is for the Enduro VS-5RE to become the wheel of choice for anyone who appreciates the benefit of strength and stiffness over small weight savings. One must ask themselves how much faster will they truly be by dropping a few pounds of rotating mass and is it worth the trade off of losing confidence that your wheels will hold up lap after lap. These hub centric rings are required when fitting 74.1mm hub-bore wheels to any other 72.56mm BMW 5-lug chassis. Some BMWs, such as the E39, uses a larger center bore on the wheel (74.1mm) but most other BMWs have a 72.5mm lip on the hub. That little difference will cause the wheel to not fully seat itself on the hub, even when fully torqued down. These centering rings fill that gap and allow the wheel to rest properly on the hub.

These wheel locks are made in extended lengths to work with wheel spacers. This is the standard conical seat bolt in a 12x1.5 thread pitch (most BMWs up to 2012). This is a set of 4 bolts - one bolt per wheel that replaces one of your existing extended wheel bolts. The 9 point socket provides an extra layer of protection for your coveted wheels. In some cases, the OEM hub flange extends farther than the thickness of the spacer. This creates a need for a larger chamfer on the spacer for adequate wall thickness. ECS's 10mm spacer is designed to be compatible with OEM wheels; however, in some instances, it is incompatible with certain aftermarket wheel options. A simple fix is to switch to either an 8mm or 12.5mm spacer.

Unsure of what size spacer will work best for you? This professional kit includes 1mm, 2.5mm, 5mm, 10mm, and 15mm spacers with wheel studs and nuts for you play with. These are not the same spacers that we sell and they cannot be used to drive on. But with the studs installed the car can be lowered to the ground and rolled to check for clearances. These test fit spacers are drilled to fit the standard BMW 5x120 bolt pattern as well as 4-lug 4x100 (and VW/Audi bolt patterns too). You can stack spacers to achieve the perfect clearance. When you're ready call us to order the spacers you need (we make 3mm, 5mm, 7.5mm, 10mm, 12.5mm, 15mm, 17.5mm, 20mm, 25mm, and 30mm spacer thicknesses).

This kit is for purchase only. It's perfect for shops or racecars where changing wheels or brakes is common. We also have kits that are available for rent.

These spacers are not for driving on. They lack the hubcentric lip that BMW wheels are designed to work with. Driving on studs alone will lead to a failure.
