Under certain conditions, the N55 crank hub likes to spin, without warning and even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines which press into the crank, and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). Features: Installs the same as a stock hub Does NOT require the crank to be drilled for pins Manufactured from Harndered 17-4SS We suggest the Crank Hub System ONLY be installed by a qualified shop or technician. Timing tools are 100% REQUIRED if installed improperly engine damage may occur. DISCLAIMER: VTT and ECS are not responsible for any engine damage caused by improper installation, or misuse of the crank hub solution.

When it comes to optimizing the performance and longevity of your BMW N55 or S55 engine, few upgrades can rival the impact of replacing the camshaft, bearings, and gaskets. These essential components play a pivotal role in your engine's overall health and performance, and upgrading them can deliver a host of benefits, from increased power to enhanced reliability. In this article, we'll explore the advantages of investing in these critical upgrades for your BMW N55 or S55 engine. Improved Performance: Upgrading your BMW N55 or S55 engine with a new camshaft can significantly boost its performance. A high-quality camshaft can optimize valve timing, leading to improved airflow and combustion efficiency. This, in turn, results in increased horsepower and torque, providing you with a more exhilarating driving experience. If you're seeking that extra punch when you hit the gas pedal, a new camshaft is the way to go. Enhanced Durability: The camshaft, bearings, and gaskets are fundamental components of your engine's internal structure. Over time, wear and tear can cause these parts to degrade, potentially leading to catastrophic engine failure. By replacing these components with high-quality, performance-oriented alternatives, you're not only increasing horsepower but also reinforcing the engine's durability. This can help prevent costly breakdowns and extend the life of your BMW engine. Optimal Efficiency: Efficiency is a key factor in engine performance. Worn-out bearings and gaskets can lead to oil leaks and reduced engine efficiency. Replacing them ensures a tighter seal, minimizing oil leaks and maintaining the proper lubrication for all moving parts. This leads to better fuel efficiency and a smoother, more reliable engine operation, all while reducing maintenance costs in the long run. Increased Resale Value: Investing in high-quality components like camshafts, bearings, and gaskets not only enhances your driving experience but also adds value to your BMW. When it's time to sell or trade-in your vehicle, potential buyers or dealerships will recognize the value of these upgrades, making your car more desirable and potentially increasing its resale value. Carrillo rods are your number one option for performance connecting rods! If you are looking to upgrade your N20 engine to handle greater power, we highly recommend these Pro-H connecting rods. Upgrading connecting rods in your engine can bring several benefits, particularly if you're looking to enhance performance, reliability, and overall durability. Here are some reasons why you might consider investing in upgraded connecting rods: Increased Strength: Upgraded connecting rods are often made from stronger materials, such as forged steel or titanium, compared to stock rods. This increased strength helps withstand higher levels of stress and load, making them suitable for high-performance applications. Improved Durability: Enhanced materials and manufacturing processes contribute to improved durability, reducing the risk of connecting rod failure, especially in high-stress situations. This is crucial for engines that undergo frequent high-speed or high-stress conditions, such as in racing or heavy-duty applications. Higher RPM Capability: Upgraded connecting rods are designed to handle higher engine RPM (revolutions per minute) without succumbing to fatigue or deformation. This is beneficial for those seeking increased horsepower and torque at higher engine speeds. Reduced Weight: Some upgraded connecting rods are engineered to be lighter while maintaining strength, contributing to a lower overall rotating mass in the engine. This can result in quicker revving, improved throttle response, and better overall performance. Enhanced Precision: Upgraded rods often undergo more precise machining processes, ensuring tight tolerances and improved balance. This precision can lead to better engine stability and reduced vibration, ultimately extending the life of engine components. Compatibility with High-Performance Builds: If you're planning on modifying your engine for increased horsepower through methods like turbocharging or supercharging, upgraded connecting rods become essential. They provide the necessary strength and reliability to handle the increased stresses associated with forced induction. Prevention of Catastrophic Failures: Upgrading connecting rods can act as a preventive measure against catastrophic engine failures. The improved strength and durability reduce the risk of a connecting rod breaking, which could lead to severe engine damage. Specifications: CC(in): 5.683 CC(mm): 144.35 Style: PRO-H Bolt Size: 3/8 Bolt Type: WMC Pin Width(in): 0.822 Pin Width(mm): 20.88 Big Width(in): 0.822 Bid Width(mm): 20.88 Big Bore(in): 2.1112 Big Bore(mm): 53.62 Pin Size: 22mm QTY: Set of 4 Founded by Fred Carrillo in 1963, Carrillo Connecting Rods was established with an unwavering commitment to uncompromising standards in manufacturing. Fred recognized that the relentless pursuit of speed demanded an equally fervent dedication to the quality of components. This foundational philosophy remains as strong today as it was at the inception of Carrillo in 1963. At CP-Carrillo, quality and pride are inseparable. The process of crafting a CP-Carrillo rod transcends mere forging, production targets, and shipping deadlines. The evolution of connecting rod design has become a collaborative effort involving skilled specialists. Each connecting rod is a precision symphony, with material specialists, forging experts, production craftsmen, design engineers, and engine specialists contributing their expertise and artistry. Customer feedback plays a pivotal role in our continuous product improvement. If your engine has higher mileage, don't neglect rod bearing replacement! These bearings are sandwiched between the connecting rod and crankshaft journal and are prone to failure due to overheating, lack of lubrication, or general wear. Replace your rod bearings and prevent a spun bearing.

Starting with ACL’s high-performance bearing shells, our Race Series bearings are built to withstand extreme RPMs and stress. Utilizing a "Duraglide" tri-metal construction and a high-strength overlay plate, these bearings offer superior oiling and heat resistance for high-RPM operation.

Our WPC-treated bearings take ACL’s already impressive design and enhance it even further. The WPC treatment process strengthens and smooths the bearing surface by firing high-speed, ultra-fine particles at the bearing shells, reducing friction and improving durability. This advanced surface treatment ensures smoother operation and improved heat dissipation, which are critical for any high-performance engine.

Kit includes

Turner Motorsport WPC-Treated Race Series Rod Bearing Shells (8) Hardware for Oil Pan & Oil Sump Oil filter Liqui-Moly Molygen 5W-40 (6L) Drain Plug Turner Motorsport Oil Reminder Sticker Oil pan gasket RedLine assembly lube (4 oz.)

Rocker arms work in conjunction with your camshafts and valves, applying pressure from the camshaft to open and close your intake and exhaust valves. If your rocker arm rollers have failed, this can lead to extreme camshaft damage, requiring the camshaft to be replaced. Replace your rockers whenever servicing your camshafts or replacing your hydraulic lifters to ensure long-term engine reliability.
