The Helix from Spool is simply a planetary gearbox for your High-pressure fuel pump. The particular configuration of the gears and their spatial fixturing allows an axial increase in shaft speed from the input to the output of the unit. The N54/early n55 high-pressure pump is a very capable and over-engineered piece of hardware. They do a good job supplying fuel at high pressures at stock power levels. As we start tuning and pushing more power, we start seeing drops in the high pressure. What is happening here is that the high-pressure pump is not able pump as much fuel as the injectors are injecting into the cylinders and hence causing the rail pressures to drop. The pump at this point is running out of displacement volume. With a rotary pump like the continental HPFP, an easier way to increase displacement is to spin the pump faster which results in an increased number of delivery strokes per cycle. The Helix helps you do exactly this and thus helps overcome a big limitation in N54/early N55 fuel systems without the complexity of a secondary port injection system.

Looking to get rid of the troublesome and expensive DI injectors on your BMW N54 and move to PI only and a standalone? If so VTT has you covered with its new N54 PI delete kit. This kit allows you to SAFELY remove the DI injectors, install our delete fittings, and run PI only. We machined these deletes from 310 Stainless for extreme heat, and corrosion resistance, and include 3 hold downs. These DI deletes COMPLETELY get rid of all factory provisions, including the seal. If the seal is left intact with no fuel to cool the injector or delete it will quickly overheat and melt the delicate seal causing combustion gasses to escape the engine creating misfires, and worse possibly damaging your injector bore on the cylinder head. Our deletes are machined to be a press fit into the cylinder, and can be either cooled with liquid nitrogen, and dropped in, or tapped in with a hammer, and then held down with the included hold downs. We also include M6 tapped holes on the top of each one in case they need to be removed you can attach a slide hammer, and remove the delete. The full plug-and-play EKPM3 / EKPM2 cooler kit is designed specifically for E82 BMWs using an EKPM3 or EKPM2 fuel pump control module. This is recommended for anyone using a low-pressure fuel pump that is larger than the OEM fuel pump. Please note that if you have an HW06 + (Slim EKPM3), you must choose the HW06 option, as the pre-HW06 housings will not fit. 10% of all proceeds from pink housings sold will be donated towards Breast Cancer research. Installation Tips: https://arcterminator.com/pages/e90-e92-e93-ekp-cooler-install-instructions We recommend using Fuse #8 (2007+ E82), which is the cigarette lighter fuse to power this. It is a 20 amp fuse, which you will just need to pull out and put into the empty slot of the fuse holder that comes with the kit. Then you'll need to put that fuse holder into the now empty #8 fuse slot. This ensures that the fan will only turn on when the ignition in the car is turned on. You'll also need trim removal tools, as well as a 10mm socket to remove and re-install the EKP module. We recommend using the stock grounding point that's above the EKP module or the EKP module's mounting points as the ground. The ring terminal with the kit will fit either location. The whole installation should take you between 30 - 45 minutes. We recommend preventative replacement of the fuel filter at 80-100,000 mile intervals. BMW called them "lifetime" but there's no question that any filter is going to get saturated with debris and dirt and its performance will suffer. The dirty filter can cause E90/E92 running issues like stalling, poor performance, rough running, chugging. We have replaced these filters in cars with 130,000+ miles and found the original filter was long overdue for replacement. These cars had the above driveability problems but had no fault codes or DTCs (which led to other shops making poor service recommendations). So we recommend having this done at the 80-100,000 mile mark as a scheduled maintenance item. There's no harm or downside to replacing it before it's completely clogged and your engine starts to suffer.

The fuel filter is located on the driver's side and includes two new large o-rings for the lock rings. The crossover lines to the fuel pump on the passenger side are included as well. We recommend new steel lock rings for the filter and the pump, especially on cars located in the Rust Belt or in salty climates. On really high mileage cars it would be a good idea to also replace the fuel pump as preventative maintenance since the job is essentially the same. The E9X fuel filter replacement is not complex but access can be difficult and you're dealing with potentially fragile plastic so amateurs may want to leave this to a professional technician.

When doing any sort of repair or maintenance there is no replacement for genuine factory parts. Turner Motorsport carries the Genuine BMW brand with pride and has the parts you need to complete your next project with confidence.

Not for N51 SULEV engines in 128i/328i/328xi. Check with your BMW dealer on SULEV parts that may be covered under an extended warranty.

The full plug-and-play EKPM3 / EKPM2 cooler kit is designed specifically for E82 BMWs using an EKPM3 or EKPM2 fuel pump control module. This is recommended for anyone using a low-pressure fuel pump that is larger than the OEM fuel pump. Please note that if you have an HW06 + (Slim EKPM3), you must choose the HW06 option, as the pre-HW06 housings will not fit. Installation Tips: https://arcterminator.com/pages/e90-e92-e93-ekp-cooler-install-instructions We recommend using Fuse #8 (2007+ E82), which is the cigarette lighter fuse to power this. It is a 20 amp fuse, which you will just need to pull out and put into the empty slot of the fuse holder that comes with the kit. Then you'll need to put that fuse holder into the now empty #8 fuse slot. This ensures that the fan will only turn on when the ignition in the car is turned on. You'll also need trim removal tools, as well as a 10mm socket to remove and re-install the EKP module. We recommend using the stock grounding point that's above the EKP module or the EKP module's mounting points as the ground. The ring terminal with the kit will fit either location. The whole installation should take you between 30 - 45 minutes. The cooler housing is designed to fit over the EKP module just like the OEM housing and fits with plenty of room in the stock EKP location. The early N55 high-pressure pump is a very capable and over-engineered piece of hardware. As we start tuning and pushing more power, we start seeing drops in the high pressure. What is happening here is that the high-pressure pump is not able pump as much fuel as the injectors are injecting into the cylinders and hence causing the rail pressures to drop. The pump at this point is running out of displacement volume. With a rotary pump like the continental HPFP, an easier way to increase displacement is to spin the pump faster which results in an increased number of delivery strokes per cycle. The Helix helps you do exactly this and thus helps overcome a big limitation in early N55 fuel systems without the complexity of a secondary port injection system.
