The secondary air injection system is an emission control device that introduces fresh air into the engine to prevent high emissions during startup. Turner Motorsport has all of the SAI parts you will need to get your BMW emissions compliant.
The secondary air injection pump injects fresh air into the exhaust stream to help burn off harmful pollutants in the catalytic converter. If the injection pump begins to fail, since it is a vital part of the emissions system, a fault code will be triggered. Sometimes, when pulling off the lower secondary air pipe, you may see water pour out. This is a sign that your pump is more than likely faulty. By simply replacing this pump, efficiency can be restored and there will be no worry about failing an emissions test.

This is the secondary air pump valve for E9x M3 with the S65 V8 engine. Over time carbon builds up inside the secondary air pump valve causing it not to close properly. This failure to close properly can allow exhaust and moisture to get past the valve and enter the secondary air pump, leading to premature pump failure.
