BMW automatic transmissions require a regular filter and fluid change. While BMW has recently implemented 'Lifetime' fluid on most current models, we feel that it is critical to change the transmission filter and flush the fluid at least every 50,000 miles. We carry the BMW transmission filters and special transmission fluids for your BMW.

For GA6HP19Z Automatic Transmissions

Automatic transmissions are reliable, shift smoothly, and can last without issue so long as they are properly maintained. Over time, the transmission fluid becomes thick and the filter becomes contaminated with small metal particles. This can cause excess wear, high transmission operating temperatures, and eventual failure. To prevent this we recommend changing your filter, fluid, and seals to ensure your transmission continues to operate flawlessly. We recommend filter and fluid changes every 50,000 miles.

NOTE: This filter fits GA6HP19Z automatic transmissions. This will NOT fit the GA6L45R transmission. Please check your transmission to ensure it is the correct type.

If the filter gets clogged, the hydraulic pressure in your transmission can drop dangerously low. Replace yours to keep your transmission working properly. When replacing the filter, you should also replace the transmission pan gasket to keep everything sealed properly. Also, order some new fluid to rejuvenate your transmission and guarantee years of quality performance. Using inferior, aftermarket fluid can actually shorten the life of your transmission. Always use factory approved fluid. Check your owner's manual for the proper intervals at which your transmission fluid should be changed.
