This charge pipe kit from FTP motorsports will not only improve flow over stock but also make a big improvement in the reliability column. The factory charge pipes are made from plastic to reduce weight and manufacturing costs. While this is great for the production line and the sticker price, it doesn't hold up well as the engine ages or in the case of increased power. This set of pipes will not only allow the engine to hold more boost, but they will outlast the stock indefinitely. Aluminum is also a rigid material, meaning it doesn't deform or flex very easily. What this translates to is increased reliability since an aluminum pipe cant flex and decouple itself as plastic does. One more feature to note is the 1/8"NPT fitting in the throttle body pipe. This can be used as the perfect point for a methanol injector or port injection nozzle. Comes with a threaded plug to seal the port until it is needed. Looking for more sound than what can be attained from the standard Dinan closed box intake for F2x/F3x B58 powered vehicles and don't want to sacrifice all the performance gains or the beautifully crafted carbon fiber design in the process? This semi-open variant of the same intake meets those demands using a revised lid with an additional auditory port so those intoxicating turbo noises can be more easily heard. When paired with the optional turbo inlet the full intake tract to the turbo is effectively replaced for further audio enhancement. Beyond the additional sound opening the semi-open intake takes the same path to success as its closed box counterpart. Improve upon the factory design by increasing flow via a larger airbox and filter element thereby improving throttle response and lessening the strain on the turbocharger for maximum efficiency. While box and filter enlargement and redesign are major factors in ultimately producing a more potent intake, they are not the only variables in creating a more efficient design either. The devil is in the details which is where Dinan thrives. Dinan engineers focused their attention on the intake pipe itself where numerous improvements could be made. In factory configuration, the intake tube comes complete with baffling and a small Helmholtz chamber to reduce unwanted sound. As a byproduct, these features also cause a more turbulent airflow path that robs the factory system of potential power. These 2 specific details are diametrically opposed to our intended market's desires so the removal of these features was paramount. Through numerous iterations, a carbon fiber intake tube was developed that eliminated flow disruptions and allowed the natural sound of an unimpeded intake tract to sing. All told this thorough methodology of design allows the Dinan carbon fiber intake for the B58 engine to elicit gains of 15 HP and 13 TRQ 6000 RPM on a completely stock vehicle. An impressive feat on today's turbocharged engines. Not to be outdone by the performance side of the equation, the B58 intake also is completely made up of carbon fiber unlike 6-cylinder intakes of previous generations where a mix of materials were used. Not only is the intake completely carbon construction but the quality of the material has been improved as well. While looks are surely important, and this piece has that department covered in spades, the improved construction and coating also guarantees that the appearance of the engine bay with the Dinan intake will not be marred over time. Built to elicit a more pronounced sound, imbue the engine bay with some carbon class, perform, and last the duration-- the Dinan semi-open B58 carbon fiber intake is a modification that is a must for any enthusiast that places sound atop their requirements list. The kit includes a new aluminum intake tube with CNC machined MAP sensor mount, precision cut heat shield with mounting tabs, and a new high flow air filter. The MAP sensor mount has been CNC machined out of 6061 aluminum to retain the factory fitment for proper readings. It is than TIG welded to the aluminum intake tube for proper placement. The main part of the intake is the high flow air filter. It features an inlet on the end cap to allow for an even larger volume of air to come through than a standard cone filter. The design improves air filtration while increasing air flow. The air filter is finished off with the VR logo on the rubber end cap. The heat shield is water jetted from aluminum with rubber trim to provide a secure fit and seal when the hood closes. It is designed to prevent direct hot air from the engine being sucked into the filter.

The factory B4x/B58 heat exchanger is not built to cater to the rigorous demands often associated with a modified build. The thin core is easily overwhelmed with IAT's rising dramatically once pushed beyond a few successive WOT pulls or even a few minutes at the track. This elevation in temperature gives way to the factory ECU fail safes pulling timing and reducing overall power in order to keep the system from overheating to the point of permanent damage. On an application where enjoyment is directly attributed to pushing the platform to its limits this constraint to cooling presents a challenge for the automotive enthusiast. The Dinan B4x/B58 heat exchanger for the F2x/F3x chassis assists in mitigating these issues with a more robust core (48mm thick Dinan core vs. 27mm thick OEM core) that wields 78% more heat transfer surface area for improved cooling capacity. The significant increase in core thickness requires unique "L" shaped end tanks to be incorporated as well, which also contributes to the overall thermal mass (ability to absorb, store, and release heat) improvement beyond the OEM setup. With up to a 15° IAT delta recorded over stock the Dinan heat exchanger is ready, and able, to assist in extending your vehicles ability to deliver maximum performance time and time again for your driving enjoyment! aFe has engineered the Momentum GT intake to outperform the stock air box and deliver substantial power and torque gains over the factory system. The B58 3.0L Turbo benefits from aFe's oversized cotton filter element in a Rotomold plastic housing that blocks heat saturated air while flowing more volume of cooler dense air. The system has been CAD designed to achieve the maximum volumetric flow rate into the turbo. The intake tube is a smooth, unobstructed single piece from the air inlet to the airbox and incorporates a port for the air flow sensor. aFe's advanced engineering and design have made this a direct bolt-in intake upgrade.

The aFe filter has been designed specifically for this application and uses aFe's high flow/low maintenance design. The ProDry S filter has an oil-free filter media for less maintenance. For the best flowing filter, with the best performance gain, we always recommend the standard aFe Pro5R filter (which has a blue pre-oiled filter media), but this oil-free filter flows only slightly less than the blue Pro5R style aFe filter, and requires no re-oiling after cleaning the filter.
