This left/driver's front lower control arm # 31102283577 - also know as a wishbone. This is the control arm with the outer ball joint pointing up. This is the OEM or OE M3 part and fits E82 1M and E90/E92/E93 M3. It's also an upgrade for all non-M E82 and E9X models (except Xi) (also requires headlight rod, 37142283867). This control arm includes the inner rotating, sealed mono-balljoint and outer ball joint. A direct replacement.

Control arms, and their integrated ball joints, are some of the most crucial components on a BMW suspension. The control arms literally control the wheel and suspension as they go through their range of motions. A faulty or worn control arm or ball joint is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening problem so make sure they are inspected and replaced at regular intervals. For a street-driven car we advise yearly inspection and a full replacement every 3-4 years. For track-driven cars these should be inspected before every event and replaced every two years.

The E46 3-series can really benefit from a slightly firmer suspension. The stock shock and spring package is a bit too soft and mushy with a lot of bodyroll. Even the factory sport suspension was a marginal improvement. If you have been left wanting more from your stock suspension, this is the perfect upgrade. In this E46 shock and spring package we paired H&R Sport springs with a set of Bilstein sport shocks and struts to deliver a package with near-stock levels of comfort but with stiffer springs that improve handling and lower the ride height for better aesthetics.

H&R Sport springs lower the ride height by up to 1.4" in front and .75" in the back and stiffens the spring rate. Both combine to lower the car's center of gravity and reduce the amount of bodyroll in corners. The springs are progressive rate so their initial stiffness is actually very compliant and it becomes stiffer as the spring is compressed. This is great for street cars that see bumps and potholes where suspension compliance is key. Overall, they are about 30% stiffer than the stock original springs.

We use Bilstein Sport shocks as the dampers and they feature Bilstein's patented and innovative valving system. With this system, small bumps and impacts are absorbed as they should be. But the shocks stiffen for cornering and other suspension motions. It's the best of both worlds as the shock self-adjusts based on suspension motion. These fit with the stock strut and shock mounts, making for an easy and clean install.

As great as the E36 M3 stock suspension is, it still has compromises. From spring rate to ride height, the suspension was spec'd to be appealing to a wide range of BMW customers. In other words, they couldn't make it a track car for the road and still sell 50,000 of them. E30 325iX owners need not be left out in the cold when it comes to a performance suspension. H&R makes lowering springs for the iX models that will improve handling and reduce bodyroll in addition to lowering the iX back down to 'normal' levels. We package these with Bilstein HD shocks for a taut and composed ride.

H&R Sport springs will lower the 325iX ride height by 1.3" front and 1.2" rear. This will lower the iX to the approximage ride height of a standard E30 325is. The Sport springs also come with a stiffer rate. Both combine to lower the car's center of gravity and reduce the amount of bodyroll in corners. The springs are progressive rate so their initial stiffness is actually very compliant and it becomes stiffer as the spring is compressed. This is great for street cars that see bumps and potholes where suspension compliance is key. Overall, they are about 40% stiffer than the stock original springs.

We use Bilstein HD shocks as the dampers and they feature Bilstein's patented and innovative valving system. With this system, small bumps and impacts are absorbed as they should be. But the shocks stiffen for cornering and other suspension motions. It's the best of both worlds as the shock self-adjusts based on suspension motion. Normally, HD shocks are not used with lowering springs but this package has been tried and tested throughout the iX owner community and works very well (Bilstein does not produce a Sport shock for the iX). The E36 chassis combined with the four-cylinder motor can make for a very light and sprightly car. You can enhance that sporty zip with a more capable suspension. This upper front control arm (BMW may call it a wishbone) comes with the inner bushings and is a direct replacement for the original part, made by Febi-Bilstein or Lemforder (OEM).

Control arms, and their integrated ball joints, are some of the most crucial components on a BMW suspension. The control arms literally control the wheel and suspension as they go through their range of motions. A faulty or worn control arm or ball joint is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening problem so make sure they are inspected and replaced at regular intervals. For a street-driven car we advise yearly inspection and a full replacement every 3-4 years. For track-driven cars these should be inspected before every event and replaced every two years.

This package of OEM E82 E90 E92 diff mounts replaces the stock rubber diff bushings. On a tuned 335i you may have noticed more driveline shudder or problems hooking up during hard launches. What happens is the stock rubber bushings are under constant flex as engine torque is transmitted through the differential. Under normal driving with a stock car the bushings are rarely stressed. But factor in significant additional torque from a tuned N54/N55 and the stock rubber will quickly show its weaknesses. You may have even broken a diff bolt or two as the heavy differential shifts around. Even non-turbo E82 and E9X models may benefit from fresh bushings.

This is a set of stock rubber bushings, made by OEM supplier Lemforder. They are the same as the Genuine BMW E9X diff mount bushings, but without the more expensive branding. If you're turned off by potential side effects of urethane or Delrin then the OEM diff mounts are your best option. The OEM mounts fit and perform just like the originals so there is no second guessing their quality. If you're looking for an upgrade we offer E9X solid Delrin and aluminum diff mounts that work well, even in street applications.

Where a Bilstein Sport is a true performance shock, the factory Sachs sport shocks are milder and easier on rough pavement. For a lowered height and prime ride comfort choose this H&R/Sachs kit. This strut and shock mount package covers the front and rear rubber mounts and bushings commonly replaced during a strut and shock install. While you're installing new front struts and rear shocks these are easily installed - there's no additional labor and special tools are not required. Since these pieces are mostly rubber, they dry up and crack over time. Re-using them lead to problems with fitment or noise, and may have safety issues as well. These mounts and pads are the perfect complement to your new shocks to help restore your car's handling and performance.

We sell the basic strut and shock mount package, which includes:

Front strut mounts (also known as guide support)
Front strut reinforcement plates (to prevent cracking and deforming of the front strut towers)
Front strut tower paper washer gaskets
Front and rear self-locking mounting nuts
Rear Lifetime Warranty 'Repair Shop' shock mounts
Rear shock mount reinforcements (to prevent cracking of shock towers)
Rear shock mount gaskets

In addition, you can add the front spring pads, front bump stops, front dust boots, rear bump stops, and rear dust boots if needed. But please note that some shocks and coil overs come with all or some of these pieces already. If in doubt, check with your supplier on what is included.

We offer three varieties of the rear shock mounts - OEM, Repair Shop, and HP alum-rubber. We recommend either the Repair Shop or HP mounts because the stock OEM design has a flaw that can lead to premature failure of the mounts. The Repair Shop and HP mounts use a different design that will last longer and the Repair Shop mounts also have a lifetime warranty!

The rear springs on the 2004-2010 E83 X3 models have a chronic broken spring problem. If it hasn't happened to you yet it will. Springs are nothing more than exposed steel and they rust easily. After a while a section of the spring actually breaks off. Typically the X3 was popular in markets with heavy salt and moisture anyway and water can pool in the bottom spring pad.

A broken spring is very dangerous - the spring is no longer mounted correctly in the suspension and it cannot support the weight of the car, especially when cornering. The ride also suffers as the suspension is no longer able to absorb the bumps and impacts from the road. Aside from a visual inspection of the spring itself you might notice a clunking sound or banging noise coming from the front or rear. An inspection of the noise should also include other related items in the suspension: bushings, ball joints, links, mounts, etc. We also recommend replacing the rubber spring pads on the top and bottom of the spring because they lose their shape over time.

The factory BMW springs sell for $200+ each. These are the same height as the stock replacement BMW springs which makes them a direct replacement.
