These Supersprint performance mufflers enhance the athletic side of the M6's personality. With a freer-flowing design there is more of that exhaust pop and rumble coming to the cabin, reminding you that this is a BMW Motorsport vehicle and not a luxury cruiser. The sport mufflers are more subdued than the race version with a great sound and no dramatic side effects. This front section is a direct replacement for the stock 235i/335/435/M2 exhaust with one key difference - the Supersprint uses full 80mm piping for improved flow out of the turbo. One of the best and easiest ways of getting more power from a stock turbo is by helping it push exhaust gas and larger and smoother exhaust piping will help with that. Where the stock system is bent and crimped, the Supersprint is a full 80mm along its entire length. This section 1 will fit to the stock or Supersprint turbo downpipe and a stock or Supersprint section 2 exhaust.

One area where the US M5/M6 is different than a more-powerful Euro-spec model is in the exhaust. The US M5/M6 got a header design with smaller pipes that is more restrictive. These Supersprint headers are based on the Euro design (no longer available through BMW USA) but are slightly larger tubes for better performance. The stepped design is a favorite of M3 header designs and originated in Formula 1 engines. These headers also feature Supersprint's precision-engineered merge collectors on each bank that greatly improves exhaust flow and does not impede velocity.

Fitment note: this system is based on the Euro design with 3-bolt flanges (the US used 2-bolt flanges). You will need the factory Euro center section or the Supersprint center section for this to be a direct bolt on. We recommend using this with the full Supersprint system (front center pipes, rear center resonator, and rear muffler) for the easiest install and the best sound.

Supersprint sport cats for the M5/M6 are designed to work with their performance headers and replace the stock secondary cats. The Supersprint sport cats are much freer-flowing than a factory-style cat. With less restriction, less effort is required to move the exhaust gasses which will free up horsepower and torque. These are built with O2 sensor bungs pre-installed after the cat if you wanted to extend your stock post-cat O2 sensors (however, special software may still be needed).

HJS is now a worldwide leader in sport cat technology and performance. Rally cars, German DTM, and Formula 3 all rely on HJS for clean, reliable horsepower. Supersprint works closely with HJS to spec a catalytic converter that is correct for the vehicle and engine package. This allows for a substantial increase in flow but which, at the same time, keeps the environmental specs within European limits. With any high-flow catalytic converter, special software or other work may be required to keep emissions fault codes and check engine lights from displaying. Supersprint catalytic converters are sold for track and other off-road uses only.
