The factory 335i exhaust system is pretty wide open with a minimal of restrictions - except for the catalytic converter. The factory cat is the biggest restriction so any exhaust work to gain more power is going to have to involve replacing it with something freer-flowing. Supersprint's downpipe incorporates a high-flow HJS 200-cell metallic cat that flows considerably more than the stock ceramic part. It also uses bigger 80mm piping to minimize restrictions.

The Supersprint Crossover Pipe will delete the rear resonator ahead of the rear mufflers. By removing the resonator, you can get more volume and growl from your exhaust as well as decrease exhaust restriction for slightly better power and torque. Deleting resonators makes a small but noticeable increase in overall volume so it's recommended that this is done after changing or removing mufflers. This x-pipe fits in section 2 of the exhaust - after the factory secondary cat section and before the rear mufflers. It's a direct install with Supersprint mufflers but any other set of mufflers may require custom professional installation to achieve a perfect fit.

If stock exhaust volume does not live up to your expectations and you want a lot more turbo-6 sound to get to the cabin, this Supersprint 'Racing' muffler may just what you want. By using a smaller muffler body and more straight-through exhaust flow, more sound can be extracted from the very quiet turbocharged engine. Most of Supersprint's mufflers are designed to meet European noise levels which leaves some room to make them louder for the North American market but without being obnoxiously loud. This muffler converts the X3 to the 'dual exhaust' look with two tips on each side (bumper modification required). This gives a more muscular appearance and makes the X3 more like its bigger X5/X6 siblings. Note: tips are sold separately, choose from 80mm or 90mm tip styles below.

These Supersprint mufflers enhance the athletic side of the M5's personality without going too far. With a freer-flowing design there is more of that exhaust pop and rumble coming to the cabin, reminding you that this is a BMW Motorsport vehicle and not a luxury cruiser. These mufflers are more subdued than the race version with a great sound and no dramatic side effects. You hear the exhaust when you want to but it's composed and smooth when you don't want to advertise. A moderate increase in torque and horsepower from less restriction is a nice bonus. These mufflers are clamped in place of the stock mufflers, making for a straight forward and simple install. These headers are handcrafted in Italy by Supersprint and are beautiful as well as functional. The stock M5/M6 header system is pretty good as far as BMW systems go... but Supersprint has improved on the design with mandrel-bent tubing (not crushed tubing like the stock system), full stainless-steel construction, and a bolt-on installation (the engine does not require removal). Each tube is mounted to the exhaust ports with the correct-sized flanges. The tubes are as close to equal length as possible and merge together in Supersprint's precision collector.

These headers can then be bolted to the rest of the factory exhaust or installed with Supersprint high-flow catalytic converters. Dyno testing has shown repeated gains of over 60hp with the complete system. You can choose to buy only the Supersprint headers to bolt to the stock secondary cats or high-flow Supersprint secondary cats are an option.
Removal of the factory headers and installation of the Supersprint headers can be done with the engine in the car - the engine does not need to be removed at any time. Also, there is no cutting, welding, or fabricating required. Thesewill bolt to existing flanges or piping. However, because the process involves the removal of several critical systems and components to gain access to the engine (the external oil pumps of the dry-sump oiling system, for instance) theinstallation of these headers should only be done by a shop familiar with installations of intricate header systems.
Because of the time that Supersprint's engineers dedicate to building these headers, they will be in very short supply, ensuring its exclusivity as the finest aftermarket headers available for the M5/M6 in the world.
