The F-connector is located on the air intake boot and provides a connection point for the vacuum lines that run to the brake booster and fuel pressure regulator. The factory connector is made of plastic and with heat and exposure to the elements the connector becomes brittle and potentially cracks. As a result, a vacuum leak occurs which can cause poor idling issues, evap fault codes, and poor performance. 

This aluminum version from ECS Tuning is impervious to these issues, and will easy outlast the rest of your plastic and rubber vacuum system components.

The intake boot is a regular issue especially for BMW's, nearly all vehicles have a boot manufactured from rubber with an accordion section in the design for flexibility. This flexible section is typically where the failure comes from leading to vacuum leak engine codes, rough idle, and increase fuel consumption. 

When you upgrade to a Turner silicone intake boot you get a perfect fit that will not only outlast the OE design (meaning any vacuum leaks and rough idle), while also smoothing out airflow within the intake tract. This boot also eliminates the factory intake resonator giving your engine a much more aggressive sound under the hood especially at higher rpm. The Turner Motorsport silicone intake boot is manufactured with 5 layers of wire reinforced silicone to prevent collapse under load. No more slow starts! Does your car feel old? Age may not be the issue at all, your throttle cable bushings are mostly likely worn out and your car has lost its pep!

Your throttle cable is the main connection you have from the gas pedal to the throttle body. Do you have hesitation or delayed pedal response? Think of when you are sitting at a stop light or making a turn into a flow of traffic, you may not realize it but if you haven't replaced your throttle cable and bushings this will require you to apply pressure to the gas pedal before getting feedback which can cause slow starts at stop lights and put you in danger when merging in traffic. Symptoms to look for: lackluster/sloppy throttle actuation, deformed throttle cable appearance, and bushing condition. Your throttle cable bushings can be soft, cracked or even disintegrated by now.

In most vehicle applications, the rubber intake elbow found in the intake system is not designed for performance or modification. They were designed to get the job done but when you add a performance filter, intake or tune, the stock elbow will start to show it weakness. The stock rubber elbows disrupt air flow as it passes over the accordion sections causing unwanted turbulence and negating the effects of intake modifications.

INSTALLATION:

Remove Diverter Valve
Place the spacer onto the DV flange r
Re-install your original DV solenoid atop the spacer with the included longer hardware.
The wastegate actuator must be swung out of the way for install. Loosen both screws retaining the wastegate actuator, then remove the one closest to the actuator, allowing the actuator to swing out of the way. This will allow for ease of installation.

The most common N55 intake utilizes a short plastic tube and oversized cone filter; it is your job to have better taste than the common N55 owner. This carbon intake changes the whole image of the N55 engine while maintaining a flow of cool air and added induction noise. With a dual inlet design the engine bay retains its functionality while adding a second inlet to provide your engine with improved air flow and sound. To ensure the engine gets the coolest air possible the second inlet is located in the "sweet spot" on the cold side of the engine for the lowest intake air temps and most air flow possible. The cone filter features a bellmouth velocity stack filter that creates the satisfying flutter after letting of the throttle.

Our Turner Carbon Fiber Intakes start with a 3D scan of the factory intake and engine bay. Engineers use the 3D imaging of the chassis to design the intake in SolidWorks modeling software. Using a Flow Bench, the Intake is then airflow tested against the factory intake, to ensure optimal airflow improvement against stock. Our E9X M3 S65 Carbon Fiber Intake Plenum is made from 100% high grade prepreg 2x2 twill weave carbon including the internal trumpets, this plenum replaces the OEM plastic plenum allowing the naturally aspirated BMW V8 engine to generate more inductions sounds taking the driving experience of the M3 to a whole new level. The raw V8 rumble gives the M3 an almost CSL like sound and is truly an intoxicating experience. We went through several iterations using different carbon thicknesses to fine tune the sound and the resulting plenum generates an almost unbelievable induction volume and tone.
