Wagner intercoolers (#200001064) are engineered in Germany to be a superior intercooler than the factory part. With 85% more surface area and 90% more volume than the factory IC the Wagner-designed kit is much more efficient. And that helps maintain your boost levels and performance! The factory intercooler is quickly overcome with heat and that leads to a loss of boost and performance. Factor in greater boost levels and other modifications and the more heat soak will put you out of the running. The solution is an intercooler with more capacity for cooling and Wagner has chosen the stepped design to maximize the available surface area in the front end. The step is a thicker bar and plate core with an additional set of rows on top that takes advantage of unused space in the nose. In our eyes, the best intercooler upgrade is one that not only works but also installs with a minimum amount of fuss.
One of the best features of this kit is how easy it is to install (the easiest we have used to date). It's a direct bolt-on replacement for your stock intercooler - no removing the bumper or modifying brackets or wrestling with plumbing. Core size measures 520 x 210 x150 with a 13.6cm flow rate at only 16.32lbs. Wagner has also engineered their end-tanks in aluminum instead of the factory plastic, which is much more durable over the long term. The CAD and FEM process also allows them to design their cooler internals without any bottlenecks or restrictions. This is just the best all-around intercooler upgrade we have seen for the E89 Z4.

This intake kit replaces your restrictive factory air box. It features a 3-angle velocity stack adapter, heat-block molded intake tube, 1.6mm powder-coated steel heat shield, trim sealed to seal out hot engine air, and a custom aFe brand cotton filter.
This version uses aFe's highest flowing filter media, which uses a light oil gauze to filter out dirt and particulates while allowing more air to flow to the intake. For the best flowing filter, with the best performance gain, we always recommend this standard aFe filter media (often called "Pro5R ", which has a blue pre-oiled filter media). We also carry this filter in the "ProDry" grey filter media, which is oil-free for only slightly less performance and no maintenance.
By removing your stock intake air box, you are removing the most restrictive portion of your V8's intake system, increasing both horsepower and torque, improving acceleration as well as throttle response.

Dinan's Cold Air Intake system for the F06/F13 M6 adds two additional intake snorkels to complement the factory intake ducts to the airboxes (a total of 4 intake ducts feeding air into the engine). Dinan studied the aerodynamics and packaging of the front end to determine where additional intakes can take in air. New airbox covers incorporate carbon fiber air ducts that run to the top of the radiator support where it gets a ram-air effect from the front grilles. The new airbox cover and piping are designed with a composite material that blocks hot air. A K&N high flow air filter that has 77% more surface area than stock sits in the new airbox. Dinan has shown peak gains of 13hp and 9ft-lbs of torque from the intake alone but greater gains come at higher RPM where more airflow is required.
