This muffler is considered a street upgrade system with only a modest increase in volume to give a hint of added performance without being obnoxious or annoying. The Supersprint 'Race' rear muffler system is one step beyond the standard Sport mufflers. Don't be fooled by the name - the 'Race' mufflers are designed for street use and the name only distinguishes it from the quieter standard Sport system. With the stock system the sound is very subdued. With the 'Race' mufflers the sound is much more noticeable and more aggressive - a perfect sound to compliment the assertive nature of an M Coupe or Roadster. You will hear this exhaust but it will not be intrusive or sound out of place on a civilized sports/GT car like the MZ4. The Supersprint center pipes to delete the rear resonators for more volume can be a welcome addition.

Supersprint Racing mufflers are a lighter, louder version of their tuned street performance mufflers. Where the performance muffler must meet European noise regulations the Racing mufflers do not. This allows you to have more volume and zing to your exhaust system. Supersprint has tuned these mufflers to be aggressive but not excessively loud; just loud enough that you know they're in place. Single 90mm tips per side fill out the exhaust outlets nicely and give more definition to the rear end. These will install in place of the factory mufflers and connect to the rest of the factory 335i exhaust system.

The Supersprint rear muffler fits to the stock center exhaust and produces a sportier, slightly more aggressive exhaust note than the stock exhaust. With the stock muffler, the engine noise is dampened a lot. But if you're an enthusiast who wants to accent the 7-series with more sport then this muffler is the perfect touch. The Supersprint muffler is all stainless steel and uses a much freer flowing design to make the exhaust louder and is tuned for a more exciting sound. It's not as big of a change on the Alpina model as that came with a sports muffler already. The rear of the 335i and M3 have a very distinctive appearance thanks to their dual exhaust outlets. But the 328i models were equipped with the traditional and plain left rear outlet. With this Supersprint dual exhaust upgrade your 328i or 328xi can also benefit from this muscular and athletic exhaust look. The US E92 328i exhaust is unique to the US market and that has left a void for performance exhaust options. The European exhaust has different components and layout but the Supersprint Euro exhaust can be fitted to US cars. It consists of a stainless performance muffler and stainless center resonator that is clamped to the stock E92 secondary cat (or remove the cat with the Supersprint section 1 straight pipes). This makes for an excellent replacement exhaust system because the sound is sporty but refined and not too loud. It's a muted growl and throaty sound without being overly aggressive.

Fitment Notes: This system adds an additional pair of tips to the passenger side of the vehicle. Minor trimming of the rear bumper required to match the driver's side is required. Because this system uses parts that are not normally installed on the US exhaust some additional installation and fitment work is required. But the Euro and US cars share all of the same attachment points and hangers and this is the correct system for the Euro 330 coupe (called a 328 in the US market). Our kit includes the Euro installation hardware and gasket.

Supersprint sport exhaust for the E39 combines a pleasing tone with subtle appearances for an elegant exhaust upgrade. All E39 fitment note: the fitment of this muffler is designed for the stock E39 rear bumper. The tips will sit below the bumper line. Supersprint produces a different muffler for the 540i M-Sport rear bumper (Supersprint #785926).
525i/530i fitment note: the Supersprint section 2 resonator-delete is used for all 6-cylinder E39 but the factory center resonator is different for the 525i/530i models. Instead of a slip-fit or clamp-on connection it must be welded at an existing seam on the exhaust. The whole exhaust must be removed for this installation. Refer to this image for an illustration. This does not apply if you're only installing the muffler (with small connecting pipe).

Is the 740 exhaust too tame for your ears? Supersprint has designed this muffler to give a little more volume and presence to the exhaust without detracting from the 7-series super-luxury base. Supersprint's 50+ years of exhaust design and manufacturing give them insight and expertise into tuning the exhaust for power and sound. With the F01/F02 740 they identified both the factory center resonator and rear mufflers as opportunities for increasing volume and giving them 740 a sportier exhaust sound. With this system you have two resonator options - a freer-flowing resonated design and an option to completely delete the resonator. Both options are used with the Supersprint performance mufflers which have been engineered to work with the stock exhaust tips in the bumper (see photos). This way you can get a louder and more sporting exhaust sound and retain a factory appearance.
