Our new G87 Carbon Fiber Front Lip is a CAD-designed masterpiece, created in-house with aggressive, race-inspired styling in mind. Our design engineers meticulously crafted this lip to maintain a cohesive factory aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the stock bumper architecture. The lip’s extended profile, precise contours, and 2x2 twill carbon fiber construction create a striking yet refined appearance, adding both form and function to your vehicle.

Development Process:

The Turner Motorsport G87 M2 Carbon Fiber Front Lip Spoiler was developed and thoroughly tested our Wadsworth, Ohio facility. Utilizing advanced technology, including FARO laser scanning, SolidWorks 3D CAD modeling, in-house 3D printing for rapid prototyping, and long-term product testing, our team at Turner Motorsport ensures precision and superior quality for this aerodynamic upgrade.

When designing the spoiler for the M3, our engineering team sought to offer the most impressive performance-oriented trunk spoiler on the market. Utilizing CAD and laser-scanning technology, this spoiler is designed in-house to flow perfectly with the body lines not only on the trunk lid, but also paying close attention to the roof and the rear bumper. 

Inspired by the design of the high kick trunk found on the E46 M3 CSL, we wanted to replicate this performance aesthetic in a unique manner to perfectly compliment the aggressive factory body lines of the F82 M4. If you have an E36 M3 front bumper or aftermarket front bumper our Turner LTW inspired front lip is a must have! In North America we all feel the pain of being neglected by the foreign car manufacturers. For once we got the exclusive model, the E36 M3 LTW. The lightweight version of the M3 came with a tuned up S50, big spoiler and a bare bones package for the ultimate driving experience. We wanted to take some inspiration for the LTW and bring a easy add-on to give everyone with an E36 M3 front bumper the opportunity to sport the LTW Vibe.

Designed in-house using 3D scan modeling and CAD, our front lip is a cost-effective, yet highly appealing option with a lot to offer! Made specifically for the M3 front bumper, this ABS front lip is durable, lightweight, and easy to install. This LTW Inspired Front Lip is a perfect alternative to expensive carbon fiber front lips that are prone to failure, and a more rugged option than typical cheaper plastic lips which provide few benefits and offer questionable fitment at best.

Utilizing UV stabilized ABS in a two-piece bonded design, this lip has shown to provide the best possible combination of cost-to-performance and retains the clean matte finish of the original E36 trim. If matte black isn't your thing, this lip can easily be prepped and painted to whatever color you desire.

Having a skid plate/splash guard has more purpose than you would believe. The skid plate is used to not only protect your underbody from rogue debris damaging the oil pan, but the other great benefit is protecting your drive belts and pulleys! When you open your hood and look down in front of your engine you see a series of drive belts and most likely you can see straight to the ground where there was originally a splash guard. When driving you are exposing your drive belts to the water, dirt and debris on the road which can lead to premature failure drive belts and accessories (Or even worse, the dreaded belt squeak.)

The E90/E92 plastic belly pan is a constant point of impact for potholes, speedbumps, inclines, and road debris(we saved one of our customers already, just take a look at the pictures). By now your factory belly pan is either falling off, broken into pieces or missing all together. Our skid plate for the E9x chassis is designed to replace the factory plastic splash shield. Instead of replacing your belly pan with another plastic one, upgrade to a full 8 gauge aluminum skid plate for your last belly pan purchase! The skid plate is designed with slotted mounting locations for ease of install and retains the factory jack-point on the subframe.

Our Aluminum Skid Plate is the ultimate upgrade in security for your E9X! This skid plate is a direct replacement for the OE belly pan, with the added benefit of durability from its heavy duty aluminum construction there is no question you should have one on your vehicle. Carefully crafted with a multi-piece carbon design, our spoiler is not just an accessory; it's a work of art featuring a flawless glass-like finish and perfectly matched carbon weave.

As fellow enthusiasts, we understand the importance of preserving the integrity of E36s and their components. With iconic colors like Techno Violet, Boston Green, and Estoril Blue in mind, we refuse to compromise the original trunk and paint with traditional drilling methods. Instead, our carbon LTW spoiler features an innovative fastening system that requires no modifications and preserves your car's pristine showroom finish. With precision-engineered billet clamps and high-quality 3M double-sided tape, installation is a breeze, requiring only basic hand tools. No drilling is necessary.

Research and development:

We feel it is crucial to share our journey into the design and engineering that went into developing this remarkable carbon spoiler. The development of this LTW spoiler was not a quick process; it spanned over three years. Throughout this time, we dedicated ourselves to refining, testing, and making adjustments to craft a spoiler that we're thrilled to introduce to the community.

From perfecting the form and fitment to ensuring the spoilers's stability, every aspect of this project presented significant challenges. This carbon spoiler is comprised of 5 components, the base spoiler, 70mm risers, upper spoiler, gurney flap, and most importantly the mounting brackets.

Anyone familiar with carbon fiber knows the difficulty of working with these nearly 50-inch wide pieces to achieve straightness without flex while maintaining a consistent carbon weave pattern. During the initial stages of carbon testing, the manufacturing process proved to be nothing short of impossible. Issues such as carbon fiber twisting during curing, waviness in the exterior appearance, and mismatched carbon weave posed significant hurdles.

Furthermore, ensuring precise fitment was paramount. Not only did the spoiler components need to seamlessly integrate with the trunk gaps, but they also had to clear adjacent body portions without error. We underwent rigorous testing, cycling through five sets of carbon spoiler prototypes before achieving a result that met our exact standards.

Numerous adjustments were made throughout the project, including modifications to the carbon composition, bracketry, and the incorporation of gaskets between carbon layers. Our passion and dedication were poured into every aspect of this product.

Throughout the project timeline, we conducted extensive long-term testing on various vehicles, subjecting the spoiler to speeds beyond what can be publicly disclosed. When we say these spoilers are secure, we mean it. Utilizing both 3M double-sided tape and four billet brackets with a total of eight fasteners, this spoiler can be confidently installed. The billet mounting brackets are designed to fasten over the top of the factory seam sealer on the underside of the trunk for maximum stability. Near the end of testing, we decided to add an adhesive-backed gasket to the underside of the base, providing yet another layer of paint protection.

Styling:

The greatest part we have enjoyed over this project is the versatile style of the spoiler as designed. If you have read this far into our development process we can say strongly that you are a car enthusiast, well so are we. As car enthusiasts we can never leave the car alone, changing setups and most importantly styling. With the multi-piece design, the option to change up your look is just moments away with a little help from some hand tools.

Initially, we were fully committed to running the complete setup: full height, 70mm risers, and gurney flap – all inspired by the LTW look with a modern carbon twist. However, as we spent more time with the spoiler, our perspective shifted. We decided to remove the 70mm risers and suddenly rediscovered our love for the E36's original aesthetic. Without the risers, the spoiler took on a new, understated elegance, blending seamlessly with the car's overall design.

Time passed, and we began to explore other options. Removing the gurney flap toned down the race car vibe, revealing yet another layer of the spoiler's versatility. Each subtle alteration brought about a significant change in style, proving that even the smallest adjustments could make a world of difference.

Our journey with the spoiler was one of constant evolution; from full-on LTW racing aesthetics to more understated styling and back again. This flexibility was the true beauty of our creation, keeping us engaged and dedicated throughout the rigorous development process.

What is an E36 M3 LTW?

In 1995, North America received a special gift: 126 production units of the E36 M3 Lightweight, also known as the "LTW." This limited-production, track-focused E36 was equipped with a range of features, including lightweight body panels, a stiffer suspension, upgraded brakes, and, notably, a distinctive style that served as functional aerodynamic enhancements.

Among its various enhancements, the exterior held the most distinctive features. Available exclusively in Alpinaweiss paint paired with an M-colored checkered flag, this car featured an adjustable front splitter and an optional high-rise spoiler. These elements not only contributed to its iconic appearance but also solidified its place in history as one of the most iconic-looking E36s to ever hit the market.

The LTW entered the states as a "spec" car; bare-bones, lightweight, and ready to hit the track straight out of the box. Alongside the track-focused vehicle came optional components separately packaged in the trunk. These included a front strut brace, chassis x-brace, deeper oil pan with a dual pick-up pump, and, last but not least, the GT rear spoiler (let's face it, it's an LTW spoiler). Interestingly, these components actually voided the warranty because they lacked DOT approval (maybe not the coolest aspect).

Overall, this package represented the epitome of coolness at the time, perhaps even among the coolest offerings directly from the manufacturer, ever.

How can Turner give you the LTW experience?

Over the years we have subconsciously engineered a full LTW package with our own spin on it to make your own LTW-esque E36. Among the upgrades, we have made an adjustable splitter kit packed with LTW styling(T#1871611), billet x-brace(T#4056343), street/track adjustable rear camber arms(T#304099), upgraded sway bars(T#359704), tubular race control arms(T#4524483), and many more suspension, engine, and exterior enhancements. The full suite of performance and aesthetic parts were not made in conjunction with one another; rather, it emerged from our enthusiast-driven desire to capture the track-focused essence of the LTW and apply it to our own E36s.

Finally, sedan parts! The E46 chassis is amazing as a whole, with the abundance of sub-models made there are plenty of straight sixes to go around. Unfortunately for the sedan owners, there was never an E46 M3 made with four doors. This brings up a problem because the main focus of aftermarket parts were made for the M3 and the non-m coupe. Our engineers wanted to make sure the 4 door E46 owners were not forgotten.

Our Turner Motorsport's carbon high kick rear spoiler is a great way to add some aggressive style to the rear end of your E46 sedan. The fit and finish on this piece is truly beautiful, featuring hand laid gloss carbon fiber and a design that perfectly matches the body lines of the E46 sedan. This carbon trunk spoiler will give your E46 just the look you want.

Installation is very easy, with no drilling involved. Simply clean the surface area of the trunk, remove backing from the already attached high strength double sided tape, line it up and press firmly down. We recommend doing this in a warm environment as it will better adhere to the trunk.
