The 3.0 Liter B58.2 turbo engine of the specified BMW/Toyota models is equipped with an indirect charge-air cooling circuit. So the cooling of the charged air is realized by a watercooled intercooler, which is integrated directly into the intake manifold. The WAGNERTUNING intake manifold with integrated intercooler has got a new performance core which was specially developed for the high requirements and individual mounting position of the B58.2 engine and offers 128% more external core volume compared to the original intercooler. The calculated ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface generates a maximum heat transfer and at the same time the best possible internal airflow. With the help of CFD simulations, the CNC-milled end tanks were designed for optimal airflow conditions. The result is an excellent cooling property with minimal back pressure. That`s why this kit is also perfect for racing use. An optimal cooling effect of the charged air with a significant increase in performance! All WAGNERTUNING radiators are equipped with a heat-conductive anti-corrosion coating to ensure a lasting cooling effect. Turbo inlet pipes serve two very distinct, and differing, purposes. On one hand, the optimization of a turbo inlet pipe will encourage better turbo efficiency and responsiveness by allowing the turbo to ingest more air by way of an unobstructed and larger volume flow path. On the other, you have a more visceral benefit that some may argue is equally important than that of efficiency/flow optimization --- increased sound. No matter which of the distinct purposes is favored, Dinan will deliver on both. Regardless of application, a Dinan turbo inlet replaces the weak, and failure-prone, plastic factory inlet with a more robust carbon fiber one. CNC machined fittings are utilized to ensure proper fitment and guarantee installation as a direct replacement to the OEM inlet. Beyond material and fitment however are the improvements to the characteristics of the primary element in the system, the pipe itself. The stock turbo inlet has incorporated additional features (multiple in some cases) that introduce flow restrictions and turbulence while also reducing turbo noises. All of which are unwanted but easily rectified by removing the various resonators and enlarging (and optimizing) the path for a more uniform flow. The result is an inlet that delivers not only more air and allows the turbo to be more efficient (work less) but also provides the oft-desired amplification to the turbo induction soundtrack. Features: Increased turbo efficiency and reliability courtesy of maximum unimpeded and uniform airflow. Eliminates the factory sound resonator for increased turbo vocalization. 24% increase in overall volume over OEM inlet. The BMW G20 B58 Eventuri intake has been developed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive flow path whilst maintaining low inlet temperatures. Heat and Volume are the main considerations when designing an intake for turbocharged engines. In the G20, the intake system is located next to the exhaust manifold which rapidly heat soaks the engine bay. High temperatures are detrimental for engine performance as the turbo would have to build boost with heated, less dense air and so the only way to ensure IAT’s are kept to a minimum is for a fully sealed intake. This however, results in a restriction with only one stock air feed to draw air in from. During development, the folks at Eventuri noticed an additional opening into the wheel arch area and took advantage of this by adding a secondary feed to our airbox. Furthermore, the sealed airbox also has a heat shield with gold reflective to minimise the radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. In order to maximize volume, they made the airbox as large as possible with a recess for potential strut braces. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a smooth carbon tube which is also larger in internal volume with a starting internal diameter of 111mm (4.4') smoothly tapering down to match the turbo inlet. The tube provides a smooth path from the filter to the turbo inlet. Finally, they use a custom-made high-flow dry filter that is ISO tested for filtration performance and has a larger filtration area than the stock filter.

In BMW's with the B58 engine, the intake system is partially limited. The bottom portion is lightweight and great for feeding cold air to the intake, but the top portion is excessively restrictive. Working with some of the original equipment, this intake continues to utilize the bottom portion of OE ducting and heat shielding, but replaces the top with a new high flow inverted performance cone filter. Extensive testing showed up to a 10+ HP gain to the wheels and allows for quicker turbo spool speed. Designed in-joint by CSF, VF Engineering, and CPC (Custom Plenum Creations) for optimal performance, reliability, and cooling, this feature-rich intake manifold is the Tuner's dream manifold! The newer 2nd gen B58 engine, found in the Mk5 Supra, has already been proven to be an incredible platform for performance enthusiasts – taking the performance and motorsports industry by storm in just a couple of years since its release. In a short amount of time, performance enthusiasts have already started to more than double the stock engine output – now pushing through 700whp, 800whp, and looking into the elusive 4 digit 1,000whp mark. The OEM water-cooled charge air cooler intake manifold for the B58 engine is adequate in cars with little or no modifications, but starts to really show an apparent weakness in cars that have bolt-on modifications, turbo upgrades, increased fueling (such as port injection), and performance tuning. Also, the OEM intercooler system has been known to suffer from heat soak in demanding racing conditions such as time attack, endurance racing, drag racing, and drifting, as well as spirited driving on the street. This can cause the car to pull timing out of the engine due to high intake air temperatures (IATs), and then can cause “limp mode” once temperatures reach a certain threshold, as the vehicle’s ECU will cut power to protect the engine. CSF conducted extensive testing on the dyno with R&D partner VF Engineering to ensure performance improvements before going into production with the new manifold. CSF performed over 50 dyno runs on the same car, on the same day, in relatively hot ambient conditions (~90°F) comparing the performance of the CSF Charge-Air Cooler Manifold to the OEM. Both the CSF and OEM cooler went through roughly 25 back-to-back dyno pulls every 30 seconds to measure the performance of the car overtime, resistance to heat soak, recovery time, and the effect on the turbo system duty cycle.

BMW’s turbocharged B48 and B58 engines use a water-to-air charge air cooling system, with a front-mounted heat exchanger responsible for heat dissipation. Unfortunately, the factory single-row, 25mm core design is quick to heat soak under high load, leading to excessive intake air temperatures and potential limp mode conditions—especially on modified or track-driven cars.

ECS Tuning’s High Performance Aluminum Heat Exchanger was developed in-house as a direct replacement and upgrade over the factory unit. Designed for durability and maximum cooling efficiency, this heat exchanger is a must-have for high-horsepower street builds, spirited canyon driving, and extended track sessions. Built from TIG-welded 6061-T6 aluminum, the ECS unit eliminates the factory plastic end tanks—one of the system’s most common failure points. Each heat exchanger features CNC-machined billet aluminum hose connections, mounting flanges, and brackets for perfect OE fitment and trouble-free installation.

To drastically improve thermal efficiency, the factory 25mm single-row core has been replaced with a dual-row, 42mm performance core, offering a 72% increase in thickness. This expanded design nearly doubles coolant volume, allowing for greater heat dissipation, reduced intake air temperatures, and more consistent power delivery.
