Ignition coils are key to the efficiency and performance of your BMW. With a faulty coil the spark plug is not burning the air/fuel mixture properly and that can lead to problems anywhere in the engine and exhaust (including catalytic converters and O2 sensors). Problems with one or more coils will cause a fault code but not always a check engine light. A misfire code may be related to an ignition coil but could be from other things as well. Sometimes a visual inspection of a coil and coil boot will give an indication of a failure. You can also move coils around to different cylinder banks to see if the misfire code follows a suspect coil. We suggest always having one or two coils on hand to keep as spares.

This Bremi coil was used in M42, M50, M50tu, and M60 engines. BMW has made numerous changes to ignition coil part numbers in recent years but has approved this part number to work in the vehicles listed below. This OEM fuel filter is a must during any major service or tune-up. With a clogged or dirty filter, you are starving your engine of gasoline which can result in dangerous cutting out, rough running, or even a no-start situation. Bosch filters are premium grade filters that will keep your fuel system in top shape the same as, or better than, Genuine filters, without having to spend the Genuine BMW price. If you're experiencing hard starting, flaky charging, or other electrical issues, your engine ground strap may be the culprit. A new oxygen sensor can improve driveability and lengthen engine life. Ultimately, you achieve a smoother running engine that is more fuel efficient. Stock mounts are made from soft rubber and are sometimes filled with fluid to give a car the most comfortable ride possible. The soft rubber and fluid helps to reduce the total amount of vibration, noise, and harshness (NVH) that is transferred into the cabin. The problem with this is driveline slop. The stock mounts allow a lot of excess movement and increases the amount of time it takes to transfer power to the wheels.

In order to address this issue, performance mounts can be substituted to reduce the amount of slop and transfer power to the wheel quicker. Two options for this are polyurethane mounts and solid mounts.

Solid mounts are great for an immediate transfer of power but allow for a ton of noise and vibration to be felt and heard in the cabin of the vehicle. This is great for the track where there aren't any issues with excess harshness, but as a daily driver, this can become an annoying pain in the neck.

The best middle ground is Polyurethane. Polyurethane is much stiffer than rubber and gives you the much stiffer feel you may be looking for. This allows for the increase in responsiveness, but isn't so extreme that it transfers all of the sound and vibrations into the cabin. This makes it much more comfortable for daily use while still reinforcing your driveline.
