Problems such as difficulty selecting gears, a sticky shifter, or a decline in shift quality are often the result of worn detent springs, pins, and bushings. The early days for any race enthusiast usually begins with a car that is needed to daily drive and setup to get out on the track. What becomes difficult is properly modifying that car to feel comfortable in both situations which is why we took this view on our new short shift line. This upgraded lever is a quick swap option to replace the standard shift lever that come with our kits so you can keep your hands closer to the wheel while shifting at high speeds. Designed from anodized aluminum this lever looks great in any interior for the daily driver who simply prefers the taller lever look and feel.

If allowed in the rules these solid aluminum transmission mounts offer many advantages over a urethane or Delrin mounts. It's no wonder that these mounts have found their way into the top BMW racers in the country. These are machined from solid aluminum and have zero deflection, engine torque will cause a rubber or urethane mount to flex or deflect allowing more torque to passed through the drive line (instead of being wasted winding up the mount). This puts the shift linkages in better consistent alignment. And unlike rubber or urethane the aluminum has zero wear and is not affected by leaking oil or other fluids so this is likely the last set of transmission mounts you will ever need. We very strongly recommend using the solid transmission and engine mounts together as a complete kit, mixing a rubber mount with a metal mount will cause undue stress on the mounting points and will lead to a failure. We never advise using a solid mount unless a corresponding solid mount is also used.
These are a no-compromise design for all-out racing use, full solid aluminum mounts should not be used on street-driven cars since there is no material to absorb vibration making these quite harsh for regular street use (track cars don't care about noise).

For dozens of years, enthusiasts have critiqued the imprecise and vague feeling of BMW manual transmissions. Plagued with long throws, fore and aft play in gear, and a generally loose feeling, your OEM BMW shifter leaves much to be desired. While most standard carrier-mount short throw shifter kits will aid in reducing throw length and eliminating side-to-side play in gear, some enthusiasts long for a hardcore, race-inspired shifter that completely removes play and excessive throw length. At Turner Motorsport we share the same desire and set out to offer the ULTIMATE upgrade with this Performance Chassis Mount Short Shifter.
WHY UPGRADE?
Factory BMW shifter assemblies are complex by nature. The main component of this assembly is the shift carrier, a cast aluminum piece positioned inside the transmission tunnel that incorporates bushings at both ends for mounting. Like most factory parts, these bushings are designed to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) transmission to the cabin. To the spirited driver, however, these bushings translate to flex and vagueness in the shift lever. Moreover, because this carrier is mounted to both the transmission and the body, the entire shifter assembly will "float" with the driveline, further increasing the vague and imprecise feeling of your shifter.
Our Performance Chassis Mount Short Shifter removes the shift carrier assembly entirely—removing any prospect of flex caused by bushings or driveline movement. By contrast, this chassis mount shifter offers a drastic reduction in shift lever travel, vagueness, and side-to-side play. An elevated base allows for moving the fulcrum point upwards, resulting in a much shorter and more precise throw. Shift times are further reduced by a tall, "rally style" shift lever, used to aid in leverage while also bringing the lever closer to the steering wheel. Our design incorporates a proprietary centering spring design, which is adjustable for increasing or decreasing self-centering force. In short, this design eliminates all the drawbacks of your factory BMW shifter, translating to more control, greater precision, shorter throws, and faster shift times.

The ECS Tuning Center Support Bearing Brace is engineered to improve drivetrain performance and longevity. The factory center support bearing features internal an internal rubber bushing to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) transmission to the cabin. Unfortunately, this material choice falls short when it comes to performance applications. Under extreme load conditions, this bushing is prone to flexing, resulting in driveshaft misalignment. To address the shortcomings of the factory rubber center support carrier design, ECS engineers developed a set of precision-fit, split polyurethane bushings that secure tightly around the existing driveshaft bearing. Constructed from 30A durometer polyurethane, this material eliminates bushing deflection while maintaining minimal noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). By eliminating deflection, this innovative solution not only improves durability but also ensures a significantly longer service life than the OEM center support bearing—making it an excellent upgrade for aging BMW chassis.
The polyurethane bushings are surrounded by a robust 6061-T6 billet aluminum bracket designed with strength and reliability in-mind. This bracket features a split design for hassle-free installation, eliminating the need to remove the driveshaft assembly entirely. To install the ECS Center Support Carrier, simply cut around your existing bearing, remove the factory brace, and clamp on your new bushings and bracket. This user-friendly approach saves time and simplifies maintenance or upgrades. Two stainless steel socket head screws are used to fasten the two-piece bracket, offering corrosion resistance and secure clamping under high torque and stress. Some modifications to your vehicle may not produce power to create gains in the overall performance of your driving. When you add a "Po' Boy" clutch stop to your BMW the performance gain is directly felt in the driving experience.
The ECS clutch stop allows the driver to fine tune the position of the clutch pedal to closely match the engagement point for precise, quicker shifting. The adjustment range found in this product can be set to the stock engagement point or can be adjusted to follow the wear of the clutch. Meaning your new experience will never change all the way to the end of the clutch life and can be reset to enjoy the next clutch.

Lightweight flywheels have proven themselves to be a worthwhile performance enhancement. But with the quicker throttle response and horsepower improvement comes one serious drawback: flywheel chatter. Without the dual-mass flywheel's rubber isolators, a lightweight aluminum flywheel has more rattle than stock. ECS has designed this flywheel using chrom-moly steel and it weighs almost ten pounds less than the stock DMF but not as extreme as full aluminum flywheels. The steel helps dampen vibration and noise so you get near-factory refinement and most of the benefits of a lightweight flywheel: quicker throttle response, better reliability, and more power to the wheels. This flywheel requires the E34 M5 sprung hub clutch kit.
Modern flywheels are built with additional components that are designed to dampen and minimize vibrations from the engine and transmission. Weight has increased and reliability has decreased. With additional weight more energy is required for it to move. A lightweight flywheel does away with the dual mass design and its additional mass so more energy can be diverted to where it counts most - moving the car. The flywheel and clutch is one of the first areas that engine builders address when making the rotating assembly lighter for race engines. The dampening effect is just not needed on cars that are focused on performance. And with a single-mass flywheel the unreliable DMF design is eliminated.
