This performance clutch and flywheel kit utilizes an upgraded ECS E34 M5 clutch kit with their in-house engineered flywheel to fit all M5x and S5x motors with a 5-speed transmission. By eliminating the dual-mass flywheel and replacing it with a single-mass you are able to eliminate the slack and extra weight of the flywheel for a quicker throttle response and acceleration. Their upgraded clutch kit utilizes all the best features of the original M5 clutch with an upgraded pressure plate and clutch disc, with the new clutch you have a better, more engaged clutch pedal feel, engagement, and longevity.

Paired with a modified geometry flywheel, the E34 M5 style clutch is ideally suited for most E36, E46, and others using the same powertrain. Don't neglect your motor mounts! Most stock BMW motor mounts are fluid filled and the stiffness of the mount depends on this fluid. But over time the fluid leaks out and the strength of the mount is greatly reduced. A worn motor mount allows the engine to twist and shift around. The harder you're driving the more shift will occur. As the engine is moving around it can contact other parts in the engine bay - usually cooling related. The mechanical fan can hit the radiator; the A/C compressor can hit a radiator hose, the exhaust will flex and may break. Twisting of the engine can also lead to shifting problems as the transmission twists with it. There are countless issues related to worn or compressed motor mounts so don't overlook these as a regular replacement item (every 50,000 miles).

Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. As a factory bushing ages, it begins to harden and become brittle. When this happens the bushing will actually shrink and allow for movement at the differential mounting point. At this point, the differential is free to shift under load causing a noticeable clunking noise under acceleration and deceleration and massively increasing the stress on the driveshaft and axles. Manual transmissions suffer the worst from this as it can make shifting difficult since the differential will shift when the clutch is engaged and disengaged.

By replacing these bushings with full polyurethane, the movement is eliminated since the mounting point is supported by a much stiffer material that will not harden or shrink over time. This means less stress on the driveshaft and axles and greater longevity of supporting components.

This is the direct replacement wheel bearing and hub assembly to fit the front of the E39 Non-M. We sell the OE and OEM bearings so you get the highest quality part available. This is the hub with the bearing and it bolts to the carrier (new hardware is recommended). 

Replace your wheel bearings when you hear groaning or rumbling sounds from the front. These sounds increase in frequency as speed increases and will get louder as you turn the wheel (and put load on the worn side). Failing wheel bearings can also attribute to annoying 'pad knockback' on the track.

OEM FAG wheel bearing and hub to replace BMW part # 31221093427. When wheel bearings begin to fail you will normally here a squeaking or grinding noise or sometimes feel a slight amount of vibration in the steering wheel. Be sure to replace these asap to prevent possible damage to the hub or steering issues.

Shifter slop is a common complaint among all BMW models. Some of that play comes from the bushings where the shifter carrier mounts to the transmission. The original rubber carrier bushings don't last very long and when they get too soft the shifter flops around. These Teflon bushings are not as stiff as Delrin so they won't transmit as much vibration and buzz in the shifter. Yet Teflon will last much longer than the factory rubber, giving you precise shifting for many years.

Note: this is only one part of the shift linkage and there may be other components that need replacing to improve shifting feel.

We advise getting a replacement bushing carrier pin as well. If the original rubber bushings are worn the pin will have wear too and you will still have slop in the shifter, even with the new bushings.
