BMW 1 Series E82 (2008-2013)

Every 60-80,000 miles, we recommend replacing your spark plugs to ensure your ignition system is running optimally. Over time carbon can build up around the head of the spark plug and decrease spark strength and effectiveness, leading to weaker fuel mixture detonation, misfires, and potential check engine lights. Bav Auto's Ignition coils feature core windings that have been modified to increase firepower and promote a faster, more efficient burn. This gives your BMW/MINI increased torque in the lower range of RPM and more horsepower in the upper range. The DCT transmission in your BMW is nothing short of incredible and exhilarating, but also astronomically expensive to replace. BMW has been labeling fluids as "lifetime" for quite some time now, and as enthusiasts and owners have learned over the years, there simply is no fluid that last a lifetime.

This DCT service kit that takes the guesswork out of a fluid change . No need to track down the correct fluid and plugs, simply open the box, and get the job done the correct way. By servicing your DCT transmission, you will be assured that old, broken down fluid won't cause a several thousand dollar nightmare. We recommend this service every 40,000 miles to keep your transmission going strong for years to come.

Kit includes:

• 5 quarts of Pentosin DCTF-1 fluid
• DCT transmission cartridge and suction filters
• Drain and fill plugs

Please note: We include 5 quarts of DCT fluid because without a GT1 diagnostic tool and much more involved labor, you will not be able to replace over 5 quarts of fluid. Many elect to do this service and simply flush the fluid 5,000 miles later to ensure all fluid has been flushed, but this is not mandatory.

Both the cartridge and suction filters have their own challenges in replacing. For best results, replace both.

The fuel pump is held into the tank with a retaining lock ring. Most people would take an extension or punch and tap out the ring with a hammer. But that's the wrong way to do it. You could damage the lock ring, or worse, the tank itself. This handy tool is toothed to match the lock ring and takes a standard 1/2 drive ratchet or small extension. Twist the ratchet and the lock ring comes un-done cleanly and smoothly. A hefty tool that pays for itself over and over. Fits most BMWs from 1988-2013. Also has application for MINI and Porsche.

This metal screw ring tightens down to old the top of the fuel pump or fuel filter assembly dependent on model of vehicle.

Together they make this job simple and easy and ensure a tight fit with a new ring. 

Upgrade your stock oil cooler thermostat for improved performance. Swap out your existing cover with ease, replacing it with a durable billet cover. Upgrade from your 110-degree Celsius thermostat to a new 70-degree Celsius version for faster oil flow and extended temperature control. With oil temperatures reaching 230 degrees Fahrenheit by the time your factory thermostat opens, initiating oil flow at lower temperatures proves more effective than attempting to cool down already elevated temperatures.

Utilizing a factory-style thermostat, this upgrade can be used in all weather conditions and allows your engine to warm up properly unlike thermostat bypass kits.
