Differential bushings are responsible for keeping the differential in solid alignment while dampening drivetrain vibration. While OE rubber bushings are fine when they are new from the factory, aged and worn out rubber bushings create a multitude of issues that can range from annoying to dangerous. The Bilstein B8 Performance Plus Kit includes two front struts and two rear shocks. These shocks are for use with lowered springs such as from H&R or Eibach. We do not recommend that you use them with any factory spring, including factory sport package springs. With the increased damping rates from stock you will have much more control over body motions. These will give a much more buttoned down and taut feeling with lowering springs compared to stock shocks.

Control arm bushings play a key role in connecting the wheels to the chassis of the vehicle. When an E9X is lowered beyond the limits of just lowering springs, the rear wheels toe-in excessively. This excessive rear toe leads to premature wear, that many people attribute to an increase in negative camber. It has become a common belief that an extremely low vehicle will wear the tires wrong as a matter of consequence. It has become standard practice to go as low as you can and proceed to replace your tires every five to ten thousand miles. Whats more is that when the vehicle reaches a certain ride height, the factory arms become maxed out and there is no way to compensate and dial in the proper toe. You're left with an improperly aligned vehicle that is in effect worse off than it was with the stock suspension installed.
