There is something about a cat-back exhaust that is just so good. Being able to unbolt and replace the entire visible exhaust gives you butterflies in your stomach. A fresh new exhaust and just knowing that things are about to get rowdy. This exhaust features twin 2.5" brushed pipes with flanges that bolt directly to your factory and aftermarket down-pipes. The dual 2.5" mid-pipes make their way toward the rear axle and converge into a single 3" exhaust section. The 3" exhaust section snakes through the rear section of the car making smooth dips and curves to make its way into a light-weight 3" turbo style muffler. Don't be fooled by the 135 muffler, the size is nothing but deceiving. The turbo-style muffler features an inner design that refines the exhaust note to perfection. An extraordinary mixture of both tone and volume. Paired with the 3" muffler is your choice of 3.5" exhaust tips that give your rear diffuser a sporty look that shouts performance.
Although both N54 and N55 share identical exhaust geometry, the N55 mid-pipes do not feature secondaries. Though the N55 cat-back is compatible with N54 downpipes this is not suggested. Supposedly this N55 catback sounds absolutely glorious on an N54, even with aftermarket downpipes.

The Dinan sport muffler is designed to compliment the 135i and not overpower the driver and passengers with harsh tones. The oxygen sensor is part of your BMW's emissions control system and feeds data to BMW engine management computer. The oxygen sensor is positioned in the exhaust pipe and can detect rich and lean mixtures. The goal of the oxygen sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution. Make sure your BMW engine performs as it should, and doesn't use more fuel than it needs to, by simply changing your oxygen sensor today.

This factory midpipe from the N55 135i is a sound enhancement when used on the twin-turbo N54 models. This N55 midpipe does not have the secondary catalytic converters in place that the N54 cars had. Instead there are straight pipes leading to the resonator. Without the secondary catalytic converters in place the exhaust is louder and with more of a burble and rumble. It's a great first upgrade to make the N54 engine a bit louder and more aggressive! The problem with turbo engines is that the turbo itself will dampen the sound and make the engine harder to hear. And the N54 135i engine is further dampened by the secondary cats. This can be a problem on the track when you want other drivers to be able to hear you. This center section will restore some of that lost volume and open up the N54 engine. With less backpressure the turbos can spool up faster which will make a modest power improvement. There's an added bonus for the 1M coupe - drastically reduced droning at light throttle.
This is the factory BMW N55 midpipe. It's a direct fit to either the N54 or N55 engined cars with all of the correct bends and crimps to fit the E82 or E88 chassis. But it will only change the sound characteristics for cars with the N54 engine. The N54 and N55 use the same exhaust gaskets, rings, and hangers.

The oxygen sensor is part of your BMW's emissions control system and feeds data to BMW engine management computer. The oxygen sensor is positioned in the exhaust pipe and can detect rich and lean mixtures. The goal of the oxygen sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible.
