Rubber has no place on a race car (except for tires, of course). Rubber suspension bushings are one of the first things to get swapped out for our race cars. The more solid the better when it comes to controlling the alignment and keeping your race setup consistent. We use as much solid material as the rules allow. With no deflection, solid bushings also give amazing feedback to the driver. For the M235iR, BMW had two specs for the rear control arms - stock stamped steel control arms with a rubber/neoprene bushing that is slightly stiffer than stock (2014-2015 spec) and these aluminum/stainless steel control arms with solid Heim-jointed ends (2016 spec). An additional benefit to the Heim joints is the arms are adjustable so the alignment can be perfectly dialed in. The front control arms use M3/M4 thrust arms and wishbones with sealed monoball joints. Full solid mounts and bushings will give you many setup options with razor sharp steering and chassis response. Note: 2016-spec rear control arms do not have a spring perch like the factory arms. These are for rear coil over shocks only.

BMW’s are known to have failure prone front thrust arm bushings.  The flexible rubber bushings, even those found in M performance models, allow significant movement of the front wheels to maximize daily driving comfort, but also allow considerable alignment change.  This results in a disconnected and numb road feel, standing between you and a confidence inspiring driving experience.  Eventually the fluid filled rubber bushings fatigue and crack due to continual deflection and ozone degradation, and eventually the damping fluid leaks out resulting in complete failure. 

For the enthusiast looking for superior performance and longevity with a crisp, confidence-inspiring driving experience, our sealed ball joint monoballs are the best solution available!  Our experience with spherical front control arm ball joints go back to those we designed and used in our IMSA E90 328i and E92 M3 racecars (GS class Champions in 2011).  We wanted to offer E31, E32, E34, E38, E39, E53, E60, E63, E64, and E83 owners similar levels of handling precision and control for the track and street. 

The bearing housing is precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features a knurled OD to ensure a perfect press fit, and utilize a sealed OEM BMW ball joint for exceptional quality and durability, making them completely at home on both the street and track with no compromise.  We have done extensive street, autocross, and track testing to ensure the ball joint used in this bushing design excels in each setting.  The advantage of a sealed ball joint is that it eliminates all unwanted deflection while still allowing complete bind-free movement throughout suspension travel, resulting in exceptional control of wheel alignment.  What you get is superior steering precision, turn-in response, direct braking feedback, and better handling.

We offer these thrust arms with the monoball bushings pre-installed for your convenience. Since BMW recommends the control arms be replaced for every other bushing change, we prefer to sell these as a pre-assembled set. Thick Delrin casings are used as the non-metallic solid bushing. Designed specifically for your chassis these ECS lowering springs feature a linear style spring similar to a coilover. The issue with coilovers is the rough ride due to a drastic drop and much higher spring rates. When you have a higher spring rate like coilovers, it takes much more force to compress the spring, leading to a much more rigid ride. ECS lowering springs provide a happy medium between the factory suspension and coilover suspension. Our springs are stiffer than factory but softer than a coilover spring to achieve the balance of increased performance and aesthetics while retaining a comfortable ride.

Red anodized, billet aluminum spring seats with locking collars allow for quick, on the car, adjustability with the included spanner wrenches

Fine-tuning your coilover damping shouldn’t mean stripping out your rear seats or interior panels. On many applications, rear shock adjusters are hidden behind carpet, trim, or seatbacks, making quick adjustments a hassle.

The ECS Rear Damping Extension Kit solves that problem with a clean and functional solution. These flexible extensions relocate the adjustment knobs to an easily accessible point above the rear shock towers, letting you dial in your suspension from inside the cabin, no disassembly required.

Installation is straightforward: simply drill a small access hole in your interior trim and route the extension cables through. The adjustment knobs can be removed to allow the line to pass through smaller openings, minimizing cutting. For proper installation, be sure to fully loosen the set screw, insert the cable, then securely tighten it using the provided Allen key.

These Rear Trailing Arm Knuckle Bushing replace the rubber factory bushings (33326792551) attaching the lower trailing arm to the knuckle with a low friction teflon-lined spherical bearing. Replacing the OEM component with this bushing will allow for less deflection under heavy load, and less bind as the arm travels through its suspension. These bushings use the largest possible FK bearing in this location for increased longevity and lower NVH. Turner's new Performance Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arms greatly increase the range of rear camber adjustment for high-performance track/street applications and are a must for lowered cars to meet alignment requirements. These control arms feature gun drilled 2024 Aluminum center links, clamps, and clevises, along with a 360-degree rotating clamp system. This combination provides superior strength, performance, durability, and ease of adjustment. No annoying jam nuts! A simple 3/16" Allen-key is all that is required to lock down your alignment settings. FK Spherical Rod Ends are utilized to reduce alignment change in the rear suspension under hard cornering, acceleration, and braking. They feature a Teflon liner to provide quiet operation, low friction, smooth articulation, and eliminate bushing deflection under load. The PTFE liner is chemically bonded to the inner diameter of the race, offering a very high load carrying capacity and greatly increased dynamic wear characteristics. The sway bar on your vehicle is essentially a connection between the left and right lower control arms. When you take a corner in your vehicle, the sway bars flex and rebound like a spring. These tension rods offer multiple benefits over stock control arms, helping to keep your BMW under control and on the track. The biggest upgrade over the stock control arm is the replacement of the rubber bushing with JMX hardened Teflon-lined low-friction FK Spherical Bearings. This allows for smooth control arm articulation, without the standard mushy feel you'd expect from rubber bushings. As a result, you get a more responsive feel that inspires confidence lap after lap! The PTFE liner is chemically bonded to the inner diameter of the race. The liner offers a very high load carrying capacity and has greatly increased dynamic wear characteristics, offering robust reliability for both street and track use. Another benefit of these Performance Tension Rods is increased caster adjustment, allowing precise alignment for optimal turn-in response and to compensate for variances between left and right caster.
