The kit includes a new aluminum intake tube with CNC machined MAP sensor mount, precision cut heat shield with mounting tabs, and a new high flow air filter. The MAP sensor mount has been CNC machined out of 6061 aluminum to retain the factory fitment for proper readings. It is than TIG welded to the aluminum intake tube for proper placement. The main part of the intake is the high flow air filter. It features an inlet on the end cap to allow for an even larger volume of air to come through than a standard cone filter. The design improves air filtration while increasing air flow. The air filter is finished off with the VR logo on the rubber end cap. The heat shield is water jetted from aluminum with rubber trim to provide a secure fit and seal when the hood closes. It is designed to prevent direct hot air from the engine being sucked into the filter.

The 3.0 Liter B58 turbo engine of the specified BMW models is equipped with an indirect charge-air cooling circuit. So the cooling of the charged air is realized by a water-cooled intercooler, which is integrated directly into the intake manifold. The WAGNERTUNING intake manifold with integrated intercooler has got a new performance core which was specially developed for the high requirements and individual mounting position of the B58.1 engine and offers 128% more external core volume compared to the original intercooler. The factory B4x/B58 heat exchanger is not built to cater to the rigorous demands often associated with a modified build. The thin core is easily overwhelmed with IAT's rising dramatically once pushed beyond a few successive WOT pulls or even a few minutes at the track. This elevation in temperature gives way to the factory ECU fail safes pulling timing and reducing overall power in order to keep the system from overheating to the point of permanent damage. On an application where enjoyment is directly attributed to pushing the platform to its limits this constraint to cooling presents a challenge for the automotive enthusiast. The Dinan B4x/B58 heat exchanger for the F2x/F3x chassis assists in mitigating these issues with a more robust core (48mm thick Dinan core vs. 27mm thick OEM core) that wields 78% more heat transfer surface area for improved cooling capacity. The significant increase in core thickness requires unique "L" shaped end tanks to be incorporated as well, which also contributes to the overall thermal mass (ability to absorb, store, and release heat) improvement beyond the OEM setup. With up to a 15° IAT delta recorded over stock the Dinan heat exchanger is ready, and able, to assist in extending your vehicles ability to deliver maximum performance time and time again for your driving enjoyment! The stock valve on the N55 is prone to failure - the plastic often cracks, causing the valve to stop functioning altogether.

This Forge valve unit is engineered with a piston, eliminating the diaphragm entirely. Additionally, the Valve is all aluminum - this is the solution to any failures associated with the OEM valve, making your N55 significantly more reliable. This unit retains the OEM ECU controlled valve actuation as well. Includes a plug and play harness that works with the OEM harness.

Turner Motorsport advises being cautious when removing the OEM recirculating valve; if the plastic is cracked, pieces could fall into the turbo upon removal causing serious damage.

This is a drop-in stock replacement aFe performance air filter that installs into your BMW's factory airbox.

This version has an oil-free filter media for less maintenance. For the best flowing filter, with the best performance gain, we always recommend the standard aFe "Pro5R " filter (which has a blue pre-oiled filter media), but this oil-free filter flows only slightly less than the blue Pro5R style aFe filter, and requires no re-oiling after cleaning the filter.
