ECS Tuning engineered 2-Piece semi-floating rotors offer real-world benefits that can be felt on both the street and track! 2-Piece rotors combine the advantages of weight savings and rapid heat dissipation to provide a rotor superior to stock while preventing warping and extending component life. The reduction of unsprung weight improves handling characteristics under all situations. This reduction in rotational inertia allows for quicker acceleration, decreased braking distances, and more responsive handling.

Features include:

Aluminum hats: To save weight, each rotor ring is bolted to a lightweight aluminum hat made from high-quality 6061 aluminum, and hard anodized with an attractive matte black finish that is both durable and corrosion-resistant. Gray cast iron rings: Long known for its wear resistance and stable friction characteristics, cast iron is favored for brake rotors due to its ability to absorb and dissipate large amounts of heat. 2-Piece construction: Conventional rotors are unable to cope with the stress of drastic heat fluctuations and are prone to warping. ECS 2-Piece semi-floating rotors allow the radial expansion of the rotor ring - preventing warping. Heat treated: Heat treating of ECS 2-Piece rotors makes them stiffer and stronger - for improved performance and further prevention of warping. Drilled and slotted: 2-Piece rotors are cross drilled to promote cross ventilation for improved cooling as well as slotted to clean brake pads and carry away water and brake dust. Cleaner brake pads result in faster, more consistent stopping. Drilled holes are chamfered while slots are machined with a ball end mill - both to prevent cracking that may be present on improperly machined rotors. Overall weight savings: This particular ECS 2-Piece rotor weighs only 20.95lbs compared to a stock rotor (24.45lbs). Lighter rotors reduce unsprung weight and rotational mass to improve both braking and suspension performance. Manufacturing quality: Non-friction ring surfaces, including internal vents, are painted to resist salt and other corrosives. Ground braking surfaces ensure rings run parallel, and pads bed easily. As a team of enthusiasts who own all types of European cars, we have the advantage of the exposure that comes with the enthusiast lifestyle - and have a strong understanding of what makes a great brake pad. In the pursuit of a really great brake pad for daily driving, we’ve tested a wide range of brake pads. After thousands of test miles, iterating through a variety of pad compounds, we’ve landed on the ideal blend for our DD23 Daily Driver ceramic pad.

Features:

Good stopping power - Brake pads need to stop your car, period, so this is key. We focused on selecting a compound that offers a healthy level of friction (both when hot and when cold) for safe, positive stopping power.

Positive initial bite - You should feel your brakes engage as you press the pedal, but it should not feel like an on/off switch! Advanced ceramic composition means you’ll enjoy a smooth transition on and off of the brake pedal, meaning your passengers will have a comfortable ride in stop-and-go traffic. We’ve hit a good balance here.

Very low-dust - Some factory-installed pads are eye-poppingly dusty, which is a no-go for us. Thanks to the composition of this ceramic pad, which is copper-free and contains a negligible amount of other metals, dust is both lighter in color and very limited in amount. We’ve improved on the “dust factor” without sacrificing on bite and stopping power as a good compromise, which will be a win for anyone who doesn’t detail daily (or anyone who does, too!)

Quiet braking - It’s not a race pad, so it shouldn’t squeal like one. Extremely low metallic composition means they will not squeal. DD23 is comfortable and quiet - both on the ears and in lack of vibration transmitted through the cabin.

Long life - This should be an obvious one. Your daily driver pads should last and last, so that was key in selecting our ideal compound. This is another benefit to having ceramic material composition versus a softer organic pad (which have higher metallic and various organic elements) and wear much faster. Ours are kind to rotors, too (no accelerated wear characteristics) for many miles of motoring.

BRAKE BLEEDER:

We know bleeding brake alone is not only no fun, but much more complicated than it needs to be. Having a pressure bleeder give you the ability to keep the pressure on the brake system while you go under and crack open the bleeder screws to relieve the air pockets.

CATCH BOTTLE:

Keep your fluid's off the floor and into our catch bottle.  The bottle has fluid level markings from 0.2L to 0.7 liter. This feature allows you to measure how much fluid you have sent thru the system.  Our bleeder bottle features an expandable/collapsible top portion for easier storage. Gasket in cap prevents leakage. Tubing is extra long at 24" from cap to nipple. Flexible hose can be pushed down into bottle for storage when done. Bottle now features a handy hanger bracket to hang bottle from bottom of car.

CALIPER HOOK SET:

Tired of messing with bent coat hangers or bungee cords to hang your calipers up and out of the way when performing brake maintenance? These hooks make working on your brakes easier by letting you hang your calipers with ease, no more fighting with the bungee cords or zip ties to hold the caliper just right or having to make your own "custom" hooks with wire.

• Holds brake calipers out of the way while working on brakes

BLEEDER WRENCH:

Finally, a bleeder wrench with just the right angle to open the bleeder screw without having to spend all that time removing each wheel from your car.

If you're looking for a streetable, track-capable, performance brake pad, look no further than the ECS EP24!

Features & Benefits:

Strong stopping power - Increased coefficient of friction offers satisfying stopping power when cold (a necessity for a street pad!) and even more G-force-inducing power when they warm up. With cold and warm friction comparable to Hawk HPS (and higher than many other street pads) the stopping experience with the EP24 pad is impressive for street-driven vehicles on streetable tires. Positive initial bite - Race pads have the reputation of acting like an on/off switch, which is a no-go for a pad for a street application. The EP24 offers OE-level initial bite for low-stress braking in stop-and-go situations. Reasonable dust - Race pads utilize a high metallic composition. Pads that use high amounts of metal not only dust terribly, but also will bake onto wheels with high temperatures and are a bear to clean. This is not the case with these performance street pads. Now using these pads on most of our shop cars, we’ve found over time that dust is comparable to factory pads in most applications (with greatly improved braking performance). Quiet braking - It’s not a race pad, so it shouldn’t squeal like one. While not as quiet as our ceramic DD23 pad, you’ll still be able to drive your spouse to dinner. Long life - This should be an obvious one. Even in a performance pad, your daily driver pads should last and last, so that was key in selecting our ideal compound. This compound wears slower and is kinder to rotors than two of the top competitors.
