Due to weak plastic construction, the factory plastic crankcase ventilation breather hose is known to fail. After years of exposure to piping-hot engine bay temperatures and chemical-laden oil vapors, the corrugated plastic tubing can crack, crumble, or fail altogether.

We set out to bulletproof your N20 PCV system with a durable silicone breather hose, designed to provide a comprehensive upgrade and permanent replacement for the factory plastic hose. By replacing the flimsy, heat-hardened OEM plastic hose with a four-ply fluorosilicone hose, you'll experience peace of mind knowing your N20 is free from the inevitable return of oil leaks, vacuum leaks, and drivability concerns that would have been.

This breather hose is found at the front of the engine, and is used to connect the inlet pipe to the valve cover. It replaces OEM part number 11127588417.

In factory configuration, the intake tube comes complete with baffling and a small helmholtz chamber to reduce unwanted sound. As a byproduct, these features also cause a more turbulent air flow path which robs the factory system of potential power. These 2 specific details are diametrically opposed to our intended markets desires so the removal of these features was paramount. Through numerous iterations, a carbon fiber intake tube was developed that eliminated flow disruptions and allowed the natural sound of an unimpeded intake tract to sing. All told this thorough methodology of design allows the Dinan carbon fiber cold air intake for the B46/B48 engine to elicit gains of 6 HP and 6 TRQ at 5000 RPM on a completely stock vehicle. This is a drop-in stock replacement aFe performance air filter that installs into your BMW's factory airbox. This version has an oil-free filter media for less maintenance. For the best flowing filter, with the best performance gain, we always recommend the standard aFe "Pro5R " filter (which has a blue pre-oiled filter media), but this oil-free filter flows only slightly less than the blue Pro5R style aFe filter, and requires no re-oiling after cleaning the filter.
