BMW turbos such as the N54 are capable of really impressive power numbers on stock engine internals but the factory turbos lack the precise tolerances and reliability that an upgraded unit will deliver. A failed unit may result in a boost leak, reduced performance, and, ultimately, turbocharger failure. If your wastegate actuator has failed, replace it with this OEM part from Turner Motorsport to restore performance and prolong engine life.

To construct a TTE400 N20, the folks at TTE change the original compressor and employ a far larger and more efficient billet 6+6 wheel and mill the compressor cover to the optimum gap to match the new compressor profile. Notice how they CNC mill the cover to have a smooth transition to the intake inlet, no big step to hinder airflow as you see on the competition's offerings. They replace the original exhaust turbine and CNC mill the turbine housing to install a larger 9 blade turbine for greater gas flow and lower backpressure.
