In the pursuit of a really great brake pad for daily driving, we’ve tested a wide range of brake pads. After thousands of test miles, iterating through a variety of pad compounds, we’ve landed on the ideal blend for our DD23 Daily Driver ceramic pad.
Features:
Good stopping power - Brake pads need to stop your car, period, so this is key. We focused on selecting a compound that offers a healthy level of friction (both when hot and when cold) for safe, positive stopping power.
Positive initial bite - You should feel your brakes engage as you press the pedal, but it should not feel like an on/off switch! Advanced ceramic composition means you’ll enjoy a smooth transition on and off of the brake pedal, meaning your passengers will have a comfortable ride in stop-and-go traffic. We’ve hit a good balance here.
Very low-dust - Some factory-installed pads are eye-poppingly dusty, which is a no-go for us. Thanks to the composition of this ceramic pad, which is copper-free and contains a negligible amount of other metals, dust is both lighter in color and very limited in amount. We’ve improved on the “dust factor” without sacrificing on bite and stopping power as a good compromise, which will be a win for anyone who doesn’t detail daily (or anyone who does, too!)
Quiet braking - It’s not a race pad, so it shouldn’t squeal like one. Extremely low metallic composition means they will not squeal. DD23 is comfortable and quiet - both on the ears and in lack of vibration transmitted through the cabin.

With cold and warm friction comparable to Hawk HPS (and higher than many other street pads) the stopping experience with the EP24 pad is impressive for street-driven vehicles on streetable tires. Positive initial bite - Race pads have the reputation of acting like an on/off switch, which is a no-go for a pad for a street application. This is a Genuine BMW FRONT brake rotor/disc (370x30mm) for all F30, F31 F32 F33 and F34 models with either the BMW M Performance brakes or 335/435 with the optional M Sport brakes upgrade. These rotors are dimpled and slotted to improve brake pad feel and give the brakes a sportier and more aggressive look. In addition, they are larger that the standard brake rotors to help in braking performance. These are not a direct replacement for the stock brakes and will only work with the M Performance or optional M Sport brake upgrade.
The M Performance brakes were a dealer-installed accessory that could have been ordered new or installed after the car was delivered. M Performance brakes were larger than stock and had a colored brake caliper (red, yellow, or orange). The M Sport 335/435 optional brakes (option code S2NH or S2NHA) were available as an additional option on top of the M Sport trim package but could also be ordered on their own. They featured the same size brakes as the M Performance accessory but with either blue or unfinished grey calipers. Note that only the 335 and 435 M Sport upgrade used 370mm rotors; the 328i/428i M Sport option used a 340mm rotor. These 2-piece floating rotors help dissipate heat better than a standard cast iron rotor and are also lighter for less unsprung weight. Managing heat in the brake system is vital to braking performance, especially on the track or when driven hard. It's why your brake rotors have internal vanes that vent heat as the rotor spins. These 2-piece ECS rotors feature an outer cast iron friction surface ring that is separate from the aluminum center hat. This allows better airflow through the vanes and for the friction ring can expand as it gets hot. The rotors are also cross-drilled for better ventilation and slotted to improve brake pad performance.

These are the same size as the stock rotors so your stock caliper and mounting bracket will fit and there will be no clearance issues with your wheels or to other components. Stainless steel rotor retaining screws are included. You can use these with any brake pad.

This is a pair (2) of Genuine BMW REAR brake rotors/discs (345x24mm) for all F30, F31 F32 F33 and F34 models with the BMW M Performance brakes. These will also work on the F3X 328iX/428iX with the optional M Sport Brakes upgrade. These rotors are dimpled and slotted to improve brake pad feel and give the brakes a sportier and more aggressive look. In addition, they are larger that the standard brake rotors to help in braking performance. These are not a direct replacement for the stock brakes and will only work with the M Performance or optional M Sport brake upgrade (328iX/428iX).
The M Performance brakes were a dealer-installed accessory that could have been ordered new or installed after the car was delivered. M Performance brakes were larger than stock and had a colored brake caliper (red, yellow, or orange). The M Sport 328iX/428iX optional brakes (option code S2NHA) were available as an additional option on top of the M Sport trim package but could also be ordered on their own. They featured the same size brakes as the M Performance accessory but with either blue or unfinished grey 2-piston Brembo calipers. These 2-piece floating rotors help dissipate heat better than a standard cast iron rotor and are also lighter for less unsprung weight. Managing heat in the brake system is vital to braking performance, especially on the track or when driven hard. It's why your brake rotors have internal vanes that vent heat as the rotor spins. These 2-piece ECS rotors feature an outer cast iron friction surface ring that is separate from the aluminum center hat. This allows better airflow through the vanes and for the friction ring can expand as it gets hot. The rotors are also cross-drilled for better ventilation and slotted to improve brake pad performance.

These are the same size as the stock rotors so your stock caliper and mounting bracket will fit and there will be no clearance issues with your wheels or to other components. Stainless steel rotor retaining screws are included. You can use these with any brake pad.

Features:
Good stopping power - Brake pads need to stop your car, period, so this is key. We focused on selecting a compound that offers a healthy level of friction (both when hot and when cold) for safe, positive stopping power.
Positive initial bite - You should feel your brakes engage as you press the pedal, but it should not feel like an on/off switch! Advanced ceramic composition means you’ll enjoy a smooth transition on and off of the brake pedal, meaning your passengers will have a comfortable ride in stop-and-go traffic. We’ve hit a good balance here.
Very low-dust - Some factory-installed pads are eye-poppingly dusty, which is a no-go for us. Thanks to the composition of this ceramic pad, which is copper-free and contains a negligible amount of other metals, dust is both lighter in color and very limited in amount. We’ve improved on the “dust factor” without sacrificing on bite and stopping power as a good compromise, which will be a win for anyone who doesn’t detail daily (or anyone who does, too!)
Quiet braking - It’s not a race pad, so it shouldn’t squeal like one. Extremely low metallic composition means they will not squeal. DD23 is comfortable and quiet - both on the ears and in lack of vibration transmitted through the cabin.
Long life - This should be an obvious one. Your daily driver pads should last and last, so that was key in selecting our ideal compound. This is another benefit to having ceramic material composition versus a softer organic pad (which have higher metallic and various organic elements) and wear much faster. Ours are kind to rotors, too (no accelerated wear characteristics) for many miles of motoring.

BMW used several different suppliers for their brake pads and we buy direct from their distributors to get you the same pad as originally equipped but at a fraction of the cost of the local BMW dealer. OEM brands include Pagid, Textar, Jurid, Ate, and others. These are the same pads as what originally came on your car but without the expensive BMW logo.
