Dinan engineers designed the F30 340i and F32 440i exhaust to improve exhaust flow by reducing back pressure, resulting in increased power output and a great sporty sound that is civilized when you want it to be, and pleasantly aggressive under hard acceleration. Not only is the tone improved but the additional burbles and pops that come with it are simply intoxicating. Dinan also incorporates a Helmholtz chamber design that reduces resonance or"drone" at low RPM. The system is built to exacting specifications to ensure the perfect fit using the factory hangers. It is made from 100% 16 gauge 304 stainless steel and will resist corrosion for years to come. The design features twin 89mm (3.5") polished or ceramic black exhaust tips for a tasteful high-performance look. The factory computer-controlled exhaust valve is eliminated. The oxygen sensor is part of your BMW's emissions control system and feeds data to BMW engine management computer. The oxygen sensor is positioned in the exhaust pipe and can detect rich and lean mixtures. The goal of the oxygen sensor is to help the engine run as efficiently as possible and also to produce as few emissions as possible. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution. The oxygen sensor is vital to the performance and drivability of your car. The engine computer relies on data from the sensor to make adjustments in engine efficiency and performance. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution. There is no lifespan on O2 sensors but there are several fault codes that indicate a failed sensor (O2 monitoring, cat efficiency, O2 heating circuit, O2 readiness, and others).
