Turbo inlet pipes serve two very distinct, and differing, purposes. On one hand, the optimization of a turbo inlet pipe will encourage better turbo efficiency and responsiveness by allowing the turbo to ingest more air by way of an unobstructed and larger volume flow path. On the other, you have a more visceral benefit that some may argue is equally important than that of efficiency/flow optimization --- increased sound. No matter which of the distinct purposes is favored, Dinan will deliver on both. Regardless of application, a Dinan turbo inlet replaces the weak, and failure-prone, plastic factory inlet with a more robust carbon fiber one. CNC machined fittings are utilized to ensure proper fitment and guarantee installation as a direct replacement to the OEM inlet. Beyond material and fitment however are the improvements to the characteristics of the primary element in the system, the pipe itself. The stock turbo inlet has incorporated additional features (multiple in some cases) that introduce flow restrictions and turbulence while also reducing turbo noises. All of which are unwanted but easily rectified by removing the various resonators and enlarging (and optimizing) the path for a more uniform flow. The result is an inlet that delivers not only more air and allows the turbo to be more efficient (work less) but also provides the oft-desired amplification to the turbo induction soundtrack. The all new G2x/G4x x30i PEX Intake delivers all the performance and sound benefits as its carbon fiber sibling -- just with less showmanship -- resulting in the best dollar-per-horsepower B46/B48 intake system available from Dinan. In the quest to be all things to all people at an attractive price point the x30i's have been reduced to a mundane, albeit pragmatic, core with elements devoid of any character both outwardly and inwardly. For example, in stock trim, the 230i/330i/430i comes with a utilitarian and lifeless air box swaddled by seemingly unfinished braces (where applicable) and housing a basic panel filter that is also accompanied by an intake resonator whose job it is to eliminate turbo/intake noises. The same noises that those in the performance world relish. Essentially, BMW has seen fit to give x30i owners an air box that looks uninspiring, flows adequately but not ideally, and emits no noise. The Dinan PEX intake for the platform rights these wrongs and delivers a semi-open intake capable of flowing 58% more air than the stock system resulting in improved throttle response and the elimination of a potential roadblock when opting to pursue a high-powered build (upgraded turbo, fueling, etc.). At the same time revealing an enhanced OEM-like appearance that blends seamlessly with surrounding factory plastic under hood components, and an increase in sound courtesy of the removal of the intake resonator and implementation of a semi-open design. To accomplish the feat in flow that sets the Dinan intake system apart the entire lower box of the system, and not just the lid, has been reworked and enlarged to make use of as much of the available real estate as possible within the engine bay. In turn, this allows a 40% larger, custom, free flowing filter to be housed within and maximum flow to be realized. However, a secondary inlet has always been desired by Dinan in order to effectively fill the volume of the enlarged air box and increased filter surface area. This desire led to a multitude of experiments being conducted on the effectiveness of a possible open-air inlet in the system. With different shapes, locations, and sizes of openings being tested, the goal was to ensure that the added secondary inlet did not cause any unwarranted side effects such as an increase in air temps in the system. This is commonplace with open-air intake systems where overheated engine bay air is employed in the intake tract. The results of these tests showed that the patterned openings present in the final iteration of the box on the opposite side from the engine provided a perfect balance of additional volume to assist the factory snorkel all the while not causing an increase in turbo inlet temperatures. This was the case regardless of testing conditions (single/multiple gear pulls, constant speed, 0-100mph runs, etc.). While the additional flow does not translate to any noteworthy rise in power output for stock or basic bolt-on equipped vehicles, the Dinan intake system does expand the potential of the platforms power ceiling. Put simply, those striving to build a more potent and robust solution, complete with turbo and fueling upgrades, will be allowed to maximize the results without worry of the intake system being a limiting factor. Regardless of the level of build, the secondary air inlets allow the intake system to be more audible so the turbo spool and BOV can be appreciated. A stark difference from Dinan's traditional fully sealed systems where induction noise is not nearly as recognizable. While increased flow and sound are the stars, the modest PEX construction fuses effortlessly into the factory engine bay for a reserved visual that despite basic materials still manages to draw attention. This charge pipe from FTP motorsports will not only improve flow over stock but also make a big improvement in the reliability column. The factory charge pipe is made from plastic to reduce weight and manufacturing costs. While this is great for the production line and the sticker price, it doesn't hold up well as the engine ages or in the case of increased power. Dinan High Flow Drop-in Replacement Filters are a direct upgrade to your factory intake system and will instantly provide better flow to assist your engine in achieving maximum performance and efficiency! While factory paper filters function admirably, they can be restrictive to performance goals given the material used. The all new G2x/G4x Mx40i PEX Intake delivers all the performance and sound benefits as its carbon fiber sibling -- just with less showmanship -- resulting in the best dollar-per-horsepower B58 intake system available from Dinan. The Mx40i's are an impressive lot in terms of performance and style but that is not conveyed when viewing its lackluster stock intake system swaddled by seemingly unfinished strut braces (where applicable). In stock trim, the Mx40i comes with a dry and lifeless air box housing a basic panel filter that is also accompanied by an intake resonator whose job it is to eliminate turbo/intake noises. The same noises that those in the performance world relish. Essentially BMW has seen fit to give Mx40i owners an air box that looks uninspiring, flows adequately but not ideally, and emits no noise. The exact opposite of what the platform exudes otherwise. The Dinan PEX intake for the platform corrects these wrongs and delivers a semi-open intake capable of flowing 58% more air than the stock system resulting in additional top end power and improved throttle response. At the same time revealing an enhanced OEM-like appearance that blends seamlessly with surrounding factory plastic under hood components, and an increase in sound courtesy of the removal of the intake resonator and implementation of a semi-open design. To achieve the gains in flow that set the Dinan intake system apart, the entire lower box of the system, and not just the lid, has been reworked and enlarged to make use of as much of the available real estate as possible within the engine bay. In turn, this allows a 40% larger, custom, free flowing filter to be housed within and maximum flow to be realized. However, a secondary inlet has always been desired by Dinan in order to effectively fill the volume of the enlarged air box and increased filter surface area. This desire led to a multitude of experiments being conducted on the effectiveness of a possible open-air inlet in the system. With different shapes, locations, and sizes of openings being tested, the goal was to ensure that the added secondary inlet did not cause any unwarranted side effects such as an increase in air temps in the system. This is commonplace with open-air intake systems where overheated engine bay air is employed in the intake tract. The results of these tests showed that the patterned openings present in the final iteration of the box located on the opposite side from the engine provided a perfect balance of additional volume to assist the factory inlet all the while not causing an increase in turbo inlet temperatures. This was the case regardless of testing conditions (single/multiple gear pulls, constant speed, 0-100mph runs, etc.). With more air being pulled into the system, throttle response is improved and additional power is realized in the form of max gains of +9 WHP / +8 ft-lbs of torque. The secondary air inlets also allow the intake system to be more audible so the turbo spool and BOV can be appreciated. A stark difference from Dinan's traditional fully sealed systems where induction noise is not nearly as recognizable. While power and sound are the stars, the modest PEX construction fuses effortlessly into the factory engine bay for a reserved visual that despite basic materials still manages to draw attention. It's an economical solution to form and function for a vehicle that permeates both. The BMW G20 B58 Eventuri intake has been developed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive flow path whilst maintaining low inlet temperatures. Heat and Volume are the main considerations when designing an intake for turbocharged engines. In the G20, the intake system is located next to the exhaust manifold which rapidly heat soaks the engine bay. High temperatures are detrimental for engine performance as the turbo would have to build boost with heated, less dense air and so the only way to ensure IAT’s are kept to a minimum is for a fully sealed intake. This however, results in a restriction with only one stock air feed to draw air in from. During development, the folks at Eventuri noticed an additional opening into the wheel arch area and took advantage of this by adding a secondary feed to our airbox. Furthermore, the sealed airbox also has a heat shield with gold reflective to minimise the radiative heat transfer from the exhaust manifold. In order to maximize volume, they made the airbox as large as possible with a recess for potential strut braces. The stock convoluted intake tube is replaced with a smooth carbon tube which is also larger in internal volume with a starting internal diameter of 111mm (4.4') smoothly tapering down to match the turbo inlet. The tube provides a smooth path from the filter to the turbo inlet. Finally, they use a custom-made high-flow dry filter that is ISO tested for filtration performance and has a larger filtration area than the stock filter.

Turbo inlet pipes serve two very distinct, and differing, purposes. On one hand, the optimization of a turbo inlet pipe will encourage better turbo efficiency and responsiveness by allowing the turbo to ingest more air by way of an unobstructed and larger volume flow path. On the other, you have a more visceral benefit that some may argue is equally important than that of efficiency/flow optimization --- increased sound. No matter which of the distinct purposes is favored, Dinan will deliver on both. Regardless of application, a Dinan turbo inlet replaces the weak, and failure-prone, plastic factory inlet with a more robust carbon fiber one. CNC machined fittings are utilized to ensure proper fitment and guarantee installation as a direct replacement to the OEM inlet. Beyond material and fitment however are the improvements to the characteristics of the primary element in the system, the pipe itself. The stock turbo inlet has incorporated additional features (multiple in some cases) that introduce flow restrictions and turbulence while also reducing turbo noises. All of which are unwanted but easily rectified by removing the various resonators and enlarging (and optimizing) the path for a more uniform flow. The result is an inlet that delivers not only more air and allows the turbo to be more efficient (work less) but also provides the oft-desired amplification to the turbo induction soundtrack. This fitting adds two 1/8" NPT bungs to accept any fitting that has 1/8" NPT threads. You can choose three configuration options: Fitting by itself Fitting with one 1/4" barb and one plug Fitting with two 1/4" barbs Once installed it tucks perfectly under your engine cover. These are perfect for running your PI switch off manifold pressure, which is much more accurate than the charge pipe, and they are also great for BOVs running the proper size line without having to drill a hole in your manifold. These do space out any sensors etc giving inaccurate readings like some of the other brands do.

In BMW's with the B58 engine, the intake system is partially limited. The bottom portion is lightweight and great for feeding cold air to the intake, but the top portion is excessively restrictive. Working with some of the original equipment, this intake continues to utilize the bottom portion of OE ducting and heat shielding, but replaces the top with a new high flow inverted performance cone filter. Extensive testing showed up to a 10+ HP gain to the wheels and allows for quicker turbo spool speed. The BMS Elite B58TU charge pipe upgrade is constructed from high-gauge aluminum and features a CNC throttle body and turbo flange for a snug, OEM-style fit. It features a glossy black powder coat to coordinate with the engine bay and includes three 1/8" NPT bungs ideal for an external boost gauge or methanol nozzles. With a double o-ring seal design on the chargepipe flange that attaches to the turbo, this chargepipe is designed to withstand up to 40+psi of high boost. Also includes a heavy-duty replacement coupler, o-rings, clamps, and all required installation hardware. Now available with or without a Turbosmart Raceport BOV! The blow-off valve version releases excess pressure in the charge pipes when letting off the gas. ​In addition to intoxicating sound, it reduces compressor surge and improves overall reliability at higher boost levels. The CSF B58 Thermal Rejection Competition Spacer is the next level upgrade for the B58 Super Manifold (CSF #8200 - ES4389640). Made from KIYLEX®, a patented revolutionary high-performance final stage polymer. KIYLEX® is as strong as aluminum and can withstand temperatures up to 1100°F. This spacer is designed to insulate the intake manifold from conductive heat transfer from the cylinder head. This thermal barrier reduces manifold temperatures which helps lower Intake Air Temperatures (IATs), improve charge air cooler efficiency, and combats heat soak. CSF is the exclusive distributor for the KIYLEX® Intake Manifold Spacer for the B58 Motor. The B58 Super Manifold is made from Billet Aluminum and 100% Tig Welded for strength, which allows it to be able to withstand higher boost pressures compared to the OEM plastic manifold. Aluminum has higher thermal conductivity than plastic resulting in a higher rate of heat transfer between the cylinder head and manifold. Adding the Thermal Rejection Spacer reduces heat transfer between the two metal components (cylinder head & manifold). The spacer absorbs the heat from the cylinder head and dissipates it rather than transferring it to the manifold. The CSF Thermal Rejection Competition Spacer was designed for vehicles competing in motorsports who demand the absolute best cooling in order to gain a competitive edge.
