Have you been longingly looking at the 2/3/4 series and become jealous of all the aftermarket options available to them? Have you thought all of it was in vain and your requests were ignored? That is not the case. Dinan has heard your inquiries and is pleased to offer an intake for the B58-powered 'G' chassis cars of the 5/6/7/8 and X series. Like its smaller bodied 'G' chassis siblings, the Dinan carbon fiber intake for the bigger B58 vehicles utilizes a semi-open design that incorporates multiple auditory ports on a revised lid, so induction sounds of the turbo are more evident. Beyond the additional sound openings employed in the new design, the immense resonator assembly used in the stock setup to reduce unwanted turbo sounds is also eliminated with the Dinan system. Together, these elements allow the engine to nearly achieve its full sound potential but when paired with the optional turbo inlet (and fit kit) the full intake tract to the turbo is effectively replaced for further audio enhancement. While sound is undoubtedly important for a large swath of consumers, performance enhancements are equally as important to others. Common to all Dinan intake design, improvements upon the factory design by increasing flow via a larger airbox and filter element were made. These standard adjustments improv throttle response (and acceleration) and lessen the strain on the turbocharger for maximum efficiency. While box and filter enlargement and redesign are major factors in ultimately producing a more potent intake, they are not the only variables in creating a more efficient design either. The resonator assembly that limited auditory enjoyment also created a more turbulent airflow path by introducing alternative stunted pathways. The Dinan carbon fiber intake tube eliminates these flow disruptions with a smoother, direct flow path for maximum potential efficiency and an overall 20% greater flow when compared to stock. With these flow and efficiency improvements also comes greater power, particularly off the line, culminating in maximum gains of +7 WHP & +12 lb-ft at 2500 RPM on a completely stock vehicle. Built to elicit a more pronounced sound, provide improved performance with appreciable power gains, and imbue the engine bay with some carbon class -- the Dinan B58 carbon fiber intake for the 'G' chassis 5/6/7/8/X series is a modification must for any enthusiast looking to have it all. NOTE: For B58 'G' chassis 5/6/7/8/X owners that wish to run the Dinan Turbo Inlet (D760-0061) for maximum sound, the appropriate Dinan Intake (D760-0068) as well as the associated Inlet Fit Kit (D763-0100) are REQUIRED. The Dinan Turbo Inlet will NOT mate with the factory intake system. In BMW's with the B58 engine, the intake system is partially limited. The bottom portion is lightweight and great for feeding cold air to the intake, but the top portion is excessively restrictive. This fitting adds two 1/8" NPT bungs to accept any fitting that has 1/8" NPT threads. You can choose three configuration options: Fitting by itself Fitting with one 1/4" barb and one plug Fitting with two 1/4" barbs Once installed it tucks perfectly under your engine cover. These are perfect for running your PI switch off manifold pressure, which is much more accurate than the charge pipe, and they are also great for BOVs running the proper size line without having to drill a hole in your manifold. These do space out any sensors etc giving inaccurate readings like some of the other brands do.

The CSF B58 Thermal Rejection Competition Spacer is the next level upgrade for the B58 Super Manifold (CSF #8200 - ES4389640). Made from KIYLEX®, a patented revolutionary high-performance final stage polymer. KIYLEX® is as strong as aluminum and can withstand temperatures up to 1100°F. This spacer is designed to insulate the intake manifold from conductive heat transfer from the cylinder head. This thermal barrier reduces manifold temperatures which helps lower Intake Air Temperatures (IATs), improve charge air cooler efficiency, and combats heat soak. CSF is the exclusive distributor for the KIYLEX® Intake Manifold Spacer for the B58 Motor. Made from KIYLEX® – A patented revolutionary high-performance final stage polymer Spacer Height = 6.5mm Acts as a thermal barrier that dissipates heat between the cylinder head and intake manifold Proven to lower intake manifold temperatures by up to 15% Lowers Intake Air Temps (IATs) Can withstand temps up to 1100°F and is as strong as Aluminum Self-Sealing and do NOT require gaskets, silicon products, or sealing agents of any kind. This causes the starting IATs on subsequent runs to be higher than on the initial run. The B58 Super Manifold is made from Billet Aluminum and 100% Tig Welded for strength, which allows it to be able to withstand higher boost pressures compared to the OEM plastic manifold. Aluminum has higher thermal conductivity than plastic resulting in a higher rate of heat transfer between the cylinder head and manifold. Adding the Thermal Rejection Spacer reduces heat transfer between the two metal components (cylinder head & manifold). The spacer absorbs the heat from the cylinder head and dissipates it rather than transferring it to the manifold. The CSF Thermal Rejection Competition Spacer was designed for vehicles competing in motorsports who demand the absolute best cooling in order to gain a competitive edge. With that being said, there are significant advantages to adding this spacer upgrade to any vehicle with the CSF B58 Super Manifold installed.

Designed in-joint by CSF, VF Engineering, and CPC (Custom Plenum Creations) for optimal performance, reliability, and cooling, this feature-rich intake manifold is the Tuner's dream manifold! The newer 2nd gen B58 engine, found in the Mk5 Supra, has already been proven to be an incredible platform for performance enthusiasts – taking the performance and motorsports industry by storm in just a couple of years since its release. In a short amount of time, performance enthusiasts have already started to more than double the stock engine output – now pushing through 700whp, 800whp, and looking into the elusive 4 digit 1,000whp mark. The OEM water-cooled charge air cooler intake manifold for the B58 engine is adequate in cars with little or no modifications, but starts to really show an apparent weakness in cars that have bolt-on modifications, turbo upgrades, increased fueling (such as port injection), and performance tuning. Also, the OEM intercooler system has been known to suffer from heat soak in demanding racing conditions such as time attack, endurance racing, drag racing, and drifting, as well as spirited driving on the street. This can cause the car to pull timing out of the engine due to high intake air temperatures (IATs), and then can cause “limp mode” once temperatures reach a certain threshold, as the vehicle’s ECU will cut power to protect the engine. CSF conducted extensive testing on the dyno with R&D partner VF Engineering to ensure performance improvements before going into production with the new manifold. CSF performed over 50 dyno runs on the same car, on the same day, in relatively hot ambient conditions (~90°F) comparing the performance of the CSF Charge-Air Cooler Manifold to the OEM. Both the CSF and OEM cooler went through roughly 25 back-to-back dyno pulls every 30 seconds to measure the performance of the car overtime, resistance to heat soak, recovery time, and the effect on the turbo system duty cycle.
