This is the OEM Bosch ignition coil that is the current replacement for most BMW 6 and 8-cylinder engines built since 2003. It's listed as a replacement coil for M54, M56, S54, N52, N54, N62, N63, N73, S63, S63TU and other engines. BMW has made numerous changes to ignition coil part numbers in recent years but has approved this part number to work in the vehicles listed in our fitments tab. This part number replaces previous BMW part numbers 12130390064, 12130148594, 12131712219, and 12137551260.
Ignition coils are key to the efficiency and performance of your BMW. With a faulty coil the spark plug is not burning the air/fuel mixture properly and that can lead to problems anywhere in the engine and exhaust (including catalytic converters and O2 sensors). Problems with one or more coils will cause a fault code but not always a check engine light. A misfire code may be related to an ignition coil but could be from other things as well. Sometimes a visual inspection of a coil and coil boot will give an indication of a failure. You can also move coils around to different cylinder banks to see if the misfire code follows a suspect coil. We suggest always having one or two coils on hand to keep as spares.
This Bosch part also satisfies BMW's service bulletin for 2001-2003 E46 M3 ignition coils (SIB 12 24 05). That SIB calls for Bremi or ERA brand coils but BMW has replaced them with this Bosch design.

This is an OEM INA Idler Pulley, also known as the roller pulley or deflection pulley. The idler pulley is known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. The pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. Replacement is a very simple procedure and can be done anytime the fan is off the engine (belt replacement, water pump service, alternator replacement, etc).

Hydraulic Belt Tensioner for E36, E46, E39 6-cyl models. This is the oil-filled tensioner that keeps the main drive belt in the proper tension. Over time the piston seals inside allow fluid to leak out. The tensioner becomes frozen or inoperable. Replacement is the best corrective action to take. Bosch FR7NPP332 spark plug for N52 engines. Listed as BMW part #'s 12120032138 and 12122158253. Over time spark plugs become contaminated, worn, and "fouled out". This can cause a weak or missing spark leading to issues with fuel efficiency, misfires, check engine codes, and poor idle or even direct damage to your catalytic converter. The OEM INA Tensioner Bearing allows the belt tensioner arm to rotate and apply pressure to the serpentine belt. With a bad bearing, the arm may seize up and prevent the tensioner from working properly.

This is an OEM INA tensioner pulley, also known as the adjusting pulley and lower pulley. This pulley is mounted on the belt tensioner near the center of the belt assembly. The upper and lower pulleys are known to be the primary sources for 'belt squealing'. This pulley is also encased in rubber which will crack over time. If left without service the rubber could fail completely, chucking the belt and leaving you stranded. Replacement is a very simple procedure and can be done anytime the fan is off the engine (belt replacement, water pump service, alternator replacement, etc).
This pulley is mounted along with the hydraulic belt tensioner but can be replaced on its own. It is used for the main drive belt on the M50-M54 family engines (M50, M50TU, M52, S52, M52TU, M54, M56, and S54 engines). This is the same belt that covers the water pump/alternator/power steering systems. Replacement is a very easy procedure (requires fan removal) and will have your engine purring in no time. Belt replacement is strongly recommended at the same time. If you have a mechanical belt tensioner, the pulley can only be replaced with a new tensioner.
