Proactive filtration is the best defense against catastrophic transmission failure. The included transmission oil filter acts as a shield, preventing particulate matter from scoring valve body bores, clogging fluid passages, and ruining sensitive solenoids. Ignoring a degraded filter can result in harsh engagement, delayed shifts, or a transmission that refuses to go into gear at all. Additionally, restricted flow from a dirty filter starves the transmission pump, creating a distinct, RPM-dependent whining noise from the bell housing. To ensure optimal fluid dynamics and long-term reliability, changing the filter is highly recommended during regular fluid intervals and is an absolute necessity if you are installing a new torque converter, transmission pump, or valve body.
