Bore Size: 87.0mm This refers to the diameter of each piston, slightly larger than the stock bore (which is typically 86.4mm). The increase in bore size slightly raises displacement and allows for better airflow and combustion, improving power potential. Dome Volume: -10.10cc The negative dome volume indicates that the piston has a dish shape, rather than a positive dome. This affects the engine's compression ratio and helps with fine-tuning cylinder pressures. A dished piston like this allows for higher performance at high RPM, while maintaining stability. Compression Ratio: 11.50:1 This high compression ratio is ideal for naturally aspirated performance applications, offering more power output by increasing the efficiency of the combustion process. A higher compression ratio helps the engine generate more horsepower and torque from the same displacement. Material: Forged aluminum JE Pistons are known for their high-quality forged aluminum construction. This offers better strength and durability under high stress and heat, making them suitable for high-performance and racing applications. Application: BMW S50B32 (Euro-Spec E36 M3) This kit is specific to the Euro version of the S50 engine, which differs slightly from the US-spec version in terms of displacement, power output, and other engine characteristics.

Carrillo rods are your number one option for performance connecting rods! If you are looking to upgrade your M52TU / M50 engine to handle greater power, we highly recommend these Pro-H connecting rods. Upgrading connecting rods in your engine can bring several benefits, particularly if you're looking to enhance performance, reliability, and overall durability. Here are some reasons why you might consider investing in upgraded connecting rods: Increased Strength: Upgraded connecting rods are often made from stronger materials, such as forged steel or titanium, compared to stock rods. This increased strength helps withstand higher levels of stress and load, making them suitable for high-performance applications. Improved Durability: Enhanced materials and manufacturing processes contribute to improved durability, reducing the risk of connecting rod failure, especially in high-stress situations. This is crucial for engines that undergo frequent high-speed or high-stress conditions, such as in racing or heavy-duty applications. Higher RPM Capability: Upgraded connecting rods are designed to handle higher engine RPM (revolutions per minute) without succumbing to fatigue or deformation. This is beneficial for those seeking increased horsepower and torque at higher engine speeds. Reduced Weight: Some upgraded connecting rods are engineered to be lighter while maintaining strength, contributing to a lower overall rotating mass in the engine. This can result in quicker revving, improved throttle response, and better overall performance. Enhanced Precision: Upgraded rods often undergo more precise machining processes, ensuring tight tolerances and improved balance. This precision can lead to better engine stability and reduced vibration, ultimately extending the life of engine components. Compatibility with High-Performance Builds: If you're planning on modifying your engine for increased horsepower through methods like turbocharging or supercharging, upgraded connecting rods become essential. They provide the necessary strength and reliability to handle the increased stresses associated with forced induction. Prevention of Catastrophic Failures: Upgrading connecting rods can act as a preventive measure against catastrophic engine failures. The improved strength and durability reduce the risk of a connecting rod breaking, which could lead to severe engine damage. Specifications: CC(in): 5.512 CC(mm): 140 Style: PRO-H Bolt Size: 3/8 Bolt Type: WMC Pin Width(in): 0.862 Pin Width(mm): 21.89 Big Width(in): 0.862 Bid Width(mm): 21.89 Big Bore(in): 1.8898 Big Bore(mm): 48.001 Pin Size: 22mm QTY: Set of 6 Founded by Fred Carrillo in 1963, Carrillo Connecting Rods was established with an unwavering commitment to uncompromising standards in manufacturing. E36 M3 OBD-I Stage 1.5 Performance Package
Peak Power Gain: +32hp / +23ft-lbs
Rev limit: 7000
Octane: 91 or higher

This Stage 1.5 Package adds the option of larger 21.5lb fuel injectors to the Stage 1 Euro HFM kit. The 21.5lb injectors (23lb at BMW's 3.5 bar) were standard on the S52 3.2-liter engines. Because that engine has found its way into many other E36s, we put this kit together to use the Euro HFM, intake, and the stock 3.2 injectors. Also, it's been necessary for some people to add more fuel to account for cleaner-burning gasoline used in the US. With the lower grade fuel, pinging, knocking, or lean conditions may be experienced with the stock 3.0 injectors. The issues people are having seem to be geography-related (California, the Northeast, etc.) but many people feel safer having a fuel 'safety net' and this Package meets their goals. We also offer a Stage 2 Package with 24lb injectors if these are still not flowing enough fuel. There is no performance gain with only adding the 21.5lb injectors.

We use the aFe 'Euro' Intake Kit, Bosch Euro HFM, Bosch 21.5lb injectors, and a special TMS Stage 1.5 Performance Chip. The aFe intake is made with heat-blocking materials, reducing underhood emperatures and not contributing to heat soak of the air filter. The aFE intake uses an oiled cotton air filter for maximum air flow and excellent filtration.

With the undersized stock air sensor, the M3 is gasping for breath. But with the larger 3.5 Euro HFM and Euro Intake, the M3s engine can breathe a lot better. This kit works on all 1995-1999 M3s with the US S50 3.0-liter or S52 3.2-liter engine (and using OBD-I engine computer). Our TMS Performance Chip is tuned specifically for the Euro HFM, aFe Intake, and 21.5lb injectors. Our chips require premium fuel (91 or higher) and allow us to alter the settings on the engine management.

Related Upgrades: We are often asked what would complement our software and intake packages. Within any Stage, we recommend our Underdrive Power Pulley Kits and a cat-back exhaust. The Power Pulley Kit will under-drive the alternator, water pump, and power steering pump. Under-driving means each component is moving slower which requires less power. The saved horsepower is put back to the engine where it transfers to power at the wheels. Power gains are typically 10 horsepower at the wheels.

We also recommend upgrading the cat-back muffler for slightly more performance, lighter weight, and a more-aggressive sound. Our favorite E36 M3 mufflers are the Supersprint, Borla, or Corsa exhausts. The Supersprint is the quietest and most like stock while the Corsa is the most aggressive (Borla being in the middle). You can expect a gain of 5whp with any of these exhausts.

Protect your BMW M52 or M54 I6 engine from harmful torsional vibration with a Fluidampr viscous damper designed for high-performance street, drifting, autocross, and road racing applications. Increased torque, RPM and rotating assembly changes can reduce the effectiveness of stock elastomer-style dampers. Fluidampr viscous damping technology helps control crankshaft harmonics across the entire RPM range to support long-term engine durability, accessory drive stability and reduced wear on critical components.
