Exhaust hangers stand up to years of abuse from engine heat and the elements, they do not, however, withstand removal and installation very well. Here you will find all the hangers you need for your specific vehicle.
BMW's original muffler hanger (part number 18201401797) works great at first but tends to fail over time, leading to sloppy exhaust movement and excessive noise. This failure is due to both heat and the heavy exhaust wearing down the hanger until it eventually tears, allowing the exhaust to shift around freely, banging off of nearby components. In order to address this common problem, Powerflex developed their own polyurethane rear muffler hanger that features a heavy-duty, yet lightweight, machined aluminum bracket. Polyurethane is significantly more resistant to the effects of heat and weight over time compared to rubber, meaning you can expect this exhaust hanger to last many times longer than your stock BMW hanger.

Note these are sold EACH. For an E46, you need to purchase two to replace both of them on the car. For E9X M3 and E88 128i/135i, they only use one bracket. Each order includes a pair of replacement exhaust hangers at NO CHARGE!
