When we were designing these SMG shift paddles we kept the different types of BMW drivers in mind to offer a high quality product to everyone with SMG II and an M steering wheel. The final product ended up being the perfect blend of styling, smooth curves, and comfort in your fingers to appeal to both the daily enthusiast and race track driver.
Cut from 6061-T6 aluminum and anodized for corrosion resistance and interior preference and an optional pad for the back of the paddle for increased grip and comfort. The pad adheres to the back of the paddles and is designed from neoprene to resist any temperature discomfort on hot and cold days as well as resisting slippage from wet hands. Our in-house engineers gave special attention to the key details of the M3 cockpit to ensure the paddles have a seamless OEM+ fit and finish. Subtle design details allow the paddle to conform perfectly into gauge cluster, steering wheel, and other surrounding components while offering superior comfort at the driver’s finger tips due to the extensively detailed 3D machined pockets.

This weighted shift knob makes shifts faster and the extra-large globe shape encourages over-palm shifting. The Black Forest Industries Billet Knob weighs in at 8.8oz (250g), about twice as much as a stock knob and a little heaver than the BMW ZHP knob. The heavier knob amplifies the pendulum motion of the shift lever resulting in smoother and faster shift times. BFI has designed this knob for BMW and VW fitments to fit snug on the shift lever and be secured with Allen set screws. They were careful to reduce tolerances compared to universal knobs. The overall height of the BFI knob is the same as stock anatomic knobs (some BMW M/Performance models have a stock knob that is shorter than this one).
Included with the BFI Billet knob is a matching BFI crest shift emblem. A 5 or 6-speed pattern emblem is available separately.
Choose from soft alcantara or perforated air leather with either a silver or black anodized base.
