Deleting the secondary air pump from your exhaust? Or updating your M50/S50US with the M52 header manifolds? This plate is the perfect touch! The air pump (also known as EGR system) has proven to be a headache for many BMW owners and it's one of the first things to go when building a racecar. The air pump is not required in many racing classes and deleting it saves some weight, complexity, and won't interfere with the rest of the exhaust or engine management system (deleting the air pump will require special programming in the ECU, a simulator, or a stand-alone engine management system). The M52/S52 manifolds are also a common upgrade on M50/S50US engines and these plates will be needed in those applications as well. When removing the air pump piping from the head two ports are left open that need to be blocked off. That's where this little plate comes in. They're made from stainless steel and include a new gasket to the head. They slide over the existing studs and secure with the existing nuts. Price is for a pair of block-off plates with gaskets.

Deleting the secondary air pump from your exhaust? This plate is the perfect touch! The air pump (also known as EGR system) has proven to be a headache for many BMW owners and it's one of the first things to go when building a racecar. The air pump is not required in many racing classes and deleting it saves some weight, complexity, and won't interfere with the rest of the exhaust or engine management system (deleting the air pump will require special programming in the ECU, a simulator, or a stand-alone engine management system). When removing the air pump valve from the head the port is left open that needs to be blocked off. That's where this little plate comes in. This is actually a factory BMW part and includes a new steel gasket to the head. It will slide over the existing studs and secure with the existing nuts.

This is the exhaust for the Spec E46 racing series and listed in the SE46 rules ( http://spece46.com/spece46-regulations/ ). Per SE46 rules, this must be used with stock E36 OBD-II exhaust manifolds that are sold separately. Together with the E36 manifolds this complete system eliminates the catalytic converters without the need to extensively modify the stock E46 exhaust. It's Made in the USA by Magnaflow with 3" stainless and mandrel-bent piping. The entire system, especially the front Y-pipe, has been designed to provide the least exhaust obstruction and promote flow. The front Y-pipe and merge collector simulates an equal-length header when used with the E36 OBD-II manifolds. V-band clamps make it easy to work on the exhaust or chassis in sections rather than dropping the entire exhaust system. A center resonator and rear muffler have been designed to cut noise levels for the more restrictive tracks.

E36 OBD-II exhaust manifolds required (1996-1999 E36 328i/M3). These can be purchased new but good used manifolds should be easy to find.

Custom Performance Innovations has produced their own performance headers for the E46 M3 with outstanding quality, workmanship, and power gains. The CPI headers use a stepped design of increasing pipe diameters and mandrel-bent piping for superior exhaust flow. The header tubes are slightly over-sized from the stock exhaust ports and all connections have smooth transitions which promotes exhaust scavenging and flow. The craftsmanship is among the best in the M3 header market and unbeatable for the price. The headers are made with 321 stainless with a satin finish and O2 sensors and EGT sensor ports are included in the correct places (a common fitment issue on lesser-quality headers). To make your installation easier, pick up the Gasket and Hardware Kit from the options below.

CPI measured gains of 15hp and 12 ft-lbs at the wheels using a Dyno Dynamics dynamometer (which displays a lower number compared to other brands of dynos).

    Corsa's TwinSilencer Exhaust will change the sound of the E46 325/330 from a mild mannered commuter car to a true sports car. Corsa has designed a E46 performance exhaust with a tuned aggressive sound that is worlds apart from the stock ho-hum exhaust. But thanks to their innovative RSC technology this exhaust stays civilized at normal speeds and RPM. This is a sport exhaust that you can live with on a daily basis but it opens up when you get on it. This Corsa kit is known as the "Light" version and includes the rear muffler only, after the rear axle. It has the same mufflers as the full cat-back TSE3 exhaust but replaces only the rear muffer. This gives you nearly all of the sweet Corsa sound but a more accessible price point. Tips are available as polished or black and laser engraved with the Corsa logo. The black tips have an innovative coating that won't chip or flake and provides outstanding corrosion resistance.

    Although known as the Twin Silencer Exhaust (TSE3) this system almost has dual personalities. When driven aggressively it produces a throaty and charismatic exhaust note. It has plenty of burbles and pops that a performance exhaust should have and compliments other performance upgrades you may have on your car. But when driven lightly there's only a slight hint of sporty sound. It becomes a subdued version of its other self and completely livable on daily and highway trips with NO DRONE! You can use it on a daily driver without it being annoying or intrusive and then let it off its leash for the weekend fun runs.

    Reflective Sound-Cancellation (RSC) technology - This feature is a patented non-electrical noise control system, where engine sound (pressure) waves are reflected in passages inside the muffler 180 degrees out of phase to cancel out unwanted sound waves. The result is a tuned muffler that "cleans up" the noise without eliminating the pure sound of power associated with a high-performance vehicle. Using the Corsa technology, the stainless steel mufflers are tuned to eliminate passenger cabin resonance and produce just the "right" sound. The result is quieter cruising with an awe-inspiring roar at full throttle. This system is amazingly quiet during normal cruising, due to the "no drone" RSC technology, yet still has an aggressive presence and full sound while under throttle. This makes for ideal sound for those that want an aggressive "roar" while driving hard, yet still want a more discrete lower volume for normal cruising.

    This is an axle-back system, which replaces only the rear mufflers of the stock 325/330 exhaust. It's very easy and straightforward to install and the rest of the exhaust can remain on the car (the original muffler is cut from the exhaust). Detailed photographic instructions are included. This system is 100% Made in the USA and carries a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. This exhaust is emissions legal in all 50 states (no effect whatsoever on emissions, and no "Check Engine" warning lights).

    The original Euro headers for the E46 M3 are the original M3 header upgrade. They were the first set of headers we used back in 2001. These eliminate the original US catalytic converters in the stock US manifold (the Euro cats are under the car in the exhaust center section). With no restriction the Euro headers combined with Shark software will gain over 20hp from a stock US M3 (slightly less gain if using sport cats in section 1).

    There are a lot of different headers for the E46 M3 but many of them are cheap copies of the true Euro headers. These are the genuine article without the quality issues and fitment nightmares of ultra-cheap imitations. Since these are Genuine BMW parts they are a direct fit to your engine with the proper flanges and routing with no interference with the air pump or other accessories. These can re-use the original exhaust studs on the engine and factory gaskets. New gaskets and hardware are included! Since these are straight off the Euro M3 they do not have the same port locations for the post-cat O2 sensors or EGT sensor. These are required even with Race software so they will need to be added by your installer.

    The Shark Injector Race software has been calibrated specifically for headers and no cats. The software features tuning of the fuel, spark, VANOS, and throttle maps to unlock extra horsepower and torque with either 91 or 93 octane. We also raise the rev limit to 8,100 RPM. The throttle maps have been massaged to be smoother in normal mode and smoother and faster in Sport mode. This makes the car a lot easier to drive without the stumbling and bucking of the stock software. The Race software includes programming to run without cats. The post-cat O2 sensors and the EGT sensor must still be installed in the exhaust to prevent additional fault codes

    Made in the USA O2 Sensor Bung and plug. This weld-in bung allows an O2 sensor to be screwed into your exhaust system. It's required for custom exhaust systems, and is also useful for air/fuel ratio measurements when dyno testing. A threaded plug is included to cap off when not in use. Bung and cap/plug are both 100% stainless steel. The bung and plug are also available separately (in case you don't need both). Simply choose your option below.

    Install Tips
    • Locate bung as close to engine a possible, without exceeding the maximum operating temperature for the O2 sensor. The suggested location is just down-stream of the merge-collector on each bank of cylinders.
    • Sensors located after upstream exhaust system leaks or too close to exhaust outlets are susceptible to poor readings or influence of ambient air
    • O2 Sensors exposed to exhaust gasses with too high amount of un-burnt fuel can lead to misleading readings. A possible lean reading.
    • Locate sensor/bung 90deg to exhaust gas stream.
    • Locate sensor/bung in tube with a minimum of 10deg up angel to prevent liquid build up in sensor element.
    • Use stainless steel welding wire or rod when installing bung.
    • Do not have bung plug or a oxygen sensor installed when welding bung in place.
    • Welding can distort the bung so it is recommended you chase/tap the threads of the bung after welding.
    • When installing O2 sensor or plug, use an O2 sensor compatible high temperature resistant grease on the threads.
    • Use tightening torque suggested by O2 senor manufacturer.

    A Do-It-Yourself exhaust install can be hard enough. But to stop in the middle of it to run to the dealer for gaskets, hangers, or special hardware is a major inconvenience. Don't be left taking the bus to the dealership on the hunt for parts. Get all of the parts you may need before the job begins! And with mileage we can almost gurantee that any section you remove will need to have new gaskets. Some of the gaskets are crushed to ensure a tight seal; other gaskets become stuck to their flanges. This set of hangers and gaskets for the 2001-2006 E46 M3 covers all of the sections of the exhaust, from the headers to the muffler.

    The exhaust on the E46 M3 is broken up into sections -
    headers - gaskets at the cylinder head and at the outlet to section 1, plus an air pump gasket
    section 1 - crush gasket rings on the inlet and flange gaskets at the outlet to section 2
    section 2 - flange gaskets at the inlet and steel exhaust rings at the outlet to the muffler
    muffler - steel exhaust rings on the inlet with special square-shouldered nuts (included with hanger/gasket kit)

    This package also includes 3 new muffler hangers and the 2 hangers in the center of the exhaust (mounted on section 1).

    OE BMW exhaust manifold mounting hex nuts. Best to replace when installing new headers or removing the old exhaust headers for any reason. We also recommend replacing the exhaust studs as well do to corrosion often building up on the end, preventing them from being removed or installed easily.
