BMW Suspension Bushings & Mounts for BMW 3 Series E46 (1999-2005)

Clear BMW chassis

Please ensure your correct model is selected

Suspension mounts are designed to absorb the energy of the shocks and springs and isolate road harshness from the chassis. But over time the original rubber mounts will crumble and fail. We have stock mounts and bushings as well as a wide selection of upgraded and heavier-duty for performance street cars. We also offer a full selection of race only bushings and mounts. Simply choose your car below. Included here you will find rear shock tower mounts, front strut mounts, subframe mounts, lower control arm bushings, rear trailing arm bushings, and more.

Optimize rear suspension geometry with Whiteline suspension bushings. Often overlooked, Whiteline trailing arm bushings offer superior dynamic alignment precision by controlling excessive movement - providing driver reassurance for more predictable handling.

Features:

  • Performance - Whiteline's engineered "Synthetic Elastomer" bushings feature the quality ride of rubber at lower speeds and at higher speeds react when under cornering, accelerating and braking loads, for CHASSIS CONTROL and improved handling.
  • Durable - The advanced synthetic elastomer characteristics ensure superior elasticity, memory and outright durability for all forms of driving applications!
  • Resistant - Whiteline's synthetic elastomer formulation boasts resistance to oil, grease, ozone and weathering
  • Lubricant - Supplied with extreme pressure molybdenum disulphide (LM) based grease (where required) for extended life.
  • Installer Friendly - Designed with the installer in mind by reducing the need of specialized skills, tools and equipment.
  • Black - The neutral (black) appearance favored by restorers and racers.
  • Lifetime Warranty - All Whiteline bushing kits are backed by a lifetime warranty

Any subframe work or reinforcement project on the rear of the E46 M3 should include a new set of subframe mounts. It's the worn rubber bushings that contribute to failed rear subframes on the E46 (but not the only reason). As the rubber gets worn, there is more flex to the mount. This flexing is then transferred to the sheetmetal in the floor where the spot welds will pop and the sheetmetal will crack. Additional force coming from stiffer suspensions and stickier tires will only increase the flexing of the mounts/chassis.

Of course, stiffer mounts would help prevent this problem but with a stiffer bushing comes ride harshness, vibration, and additional noise. Our engineers and technicians recommend replacement with the factory rubber bushings (along with the appropriate reinforcement of the floor). The rubber bushings help isolate bumps and impacts and are quiet. They are also a perfect fitment and require no maintenance.

This item is a set of 4 Original BMW rubber subframe mounts. Individual part numbers - 33 31 2 283 573 (left front), 33 31 2 283 574 (right front), and 33 31 2 283 419 (left and right rear, x 2).

Applications:
2001-2006 E46 M3, M3 CSL coupe, convertible
2007-up Z4 M Roadster, M Coupe

Condor Speed Shop collaborated with Syncro Design Works to create these new Monoball Rear Trailing Arm Bushings designed for the track! While also at home on the street, these performance bushings are designed to handle the stresses of the track, offering a full range of articulation for optimal suspension geometry and a sealed design for maintenance-free operation and a long life. SDW's' own 410hp shop track/streetcar still has the original prototype bearing installed in 2009, with no measurable toe deflection. Condor RTAMBs are precision CNC machined and hard coat anodized to protect against corrosion, moisture, and salt spray. They come fully assembled and ready to install. NOTE: Professional installation recommended. These bushings must be pressed into the factory Rear Trailing Arms.

These bushings replace the stock rubber bushings and offer a better driving feel, increased lifespan, and better wheel alignment.

Rubber bushing allow for a lot more movement and are more susceptible to wear and tear from spirited driving and harsh weather conditions. Polyurethane is much more resistant to wear and is stiffer, reducing the total amount of movement that would normally affect the alignment negatively.

Condor's Offset Rear Trailing Arm Bushings (RTABs) are perfect for the street and the track. They're designed to help correct rear toe-in and toe-out issues on lowered cars. To correct for toe-in: RTABs can be installed with the thick side inboard to help push the rear trailing arms towards the outsides of the car. To correct for toe-out when running minimal camber setup: RTABs can be installed with the thin sides inboard to help push the trailing arms inwards. The amount of total adjustment is purely dependent on how low your car is, but we've seen toe adjustment from 1/8” out on each side to 1/8” in on each side, which is a super nice range for the e36 rear end! They use UHMW in all of their suspension bushings because it is self-lubricating, meaning it requires no grease when installing, has almost zero deflection yet also absorbs some vibration. It will outlast other types of rubber or urethane bushings. They include black oxide plated steel plates for each RTAB to prevent lateral movement between the bushing material and the aluminum. Polyurethane and rubber bushings will deflect and slide, causing your rear alignment settings to change mid-corner. With these bushings, you won't have to worry about dynamic changes in your toe settings; the rear alignment stays in check during hard cornering, braking, and acceleration. Fall Line’s mono ball spherical bearing conversion kit transforms the rear suspension feel of the E46 and E36 M3. The factory rubber bushing is very large, and is prone to substantial deflection under load, as the M3 is put through its paces. Deflection of the bushing can create unwanted geometry change, steering wobble under braking, and even hysteresis of the thrust arm.
