Anyone with a modified N54 knows the risks involved. Upping the performance of any engine can come with some inherent risk; if we add more boost but not fuel, detonation will occur (or worse). Furthermore, improper installation, maintenance, or operation can turn a perfectly healthy engine into a paperweight. The worst failures, however, are the ones we don't plan for. When the engine simply can't handle the stresses its put under, or the design is such that it simply does not support extreme conditions. Enter the N54 crank hub. Under certain conditions, it likes to spin without warning, even when the engine is in perfect health. The engineers at Vargas saw and dealt with this problem time and again, and they saw fit to do something about it. This hub uses a proprietary "Spline Lock" technology that uses high tolerance machined splines that press into the crank and positively lock the hub to the crank. The splines are machined in such a way that rotational forces drive the hub, and splines deeper into the crank meaning when the hub encounters a situation that would normally slip a stock hub the splined hub is driven into the crank to keep it in place (much like a splined extractor). Vargas spent many months testing, and retesting this design, utilizing well over 10 different samples to come to the final production version. During testing, the final hub managed to break the testing rig before slipping. These have been bench-tested, and real-world tested on the VTT N54 race car spinning 8K RPM, and making well over 900WHP. VTT is proud to offer their billet replacement for the factory plastic vacuum tanks that store vacuum from the pump and use it to regulate boost via the solenoids. The stock plastic can and small plastic nipples on the stock cans have a tendency to crank over time, and if they leak you will get low boost, or no boost, and poor performance. These cans do away with the weak plastic cans while adding some pop, and color to your engine bay. These vacuum cans retain ALL of the factory provisions including mounting points but come with 90-degree fittings for easier routing of the lines VTT's cans are made of 6061-T6 aluminum, and anodized in 4 colors for beauty, and long life. They also knurl the cans for a very distinct look in the engine bay! VTT also designed these cans to complement their N54 Billet lineup – N5X Billet Oil caps, N5XBillet Oil filter housing caps, Billet coolant cap, Billet valve cover, billet oil cooler block off plate, and Billet Power Steering cap, and so on. The oxygen sensor is vital to the performance and drivability of your car. The engine computer relies on data from the sensor to make adjustments in engine efficiency and performance. When your BMW oxygen sensor fails, the computer can no longer sense the air/fuel ratio, so it ends up guessing -- resulting in poor performance, poor gas mileage, and increased pollution. Make sure your BMW engine performs as it should, and doesn't use more fuel than it needs to, by simply changing your oxygen sensor today. There is no lifespan on O2 sensors but there are several fault codes that indicate a failed sensor (O2 monitoring, cat efficiency, O2 heating circuit, O2 readiness, and others). The O2 sensor is heated and has a self-calibration feature so once you get the codes or feel performance has suffered, a new sensor is a good starting point to get you back to peak performance. Bosch's Oxygen sensors are high quality and will give you the longest and best performance for the price.

This is the OEM Bosch oxygen sensor for BMW's with the N52, N54, and N55 3.0L engines. This 490mm bank 2 oxygen sensor is mounted after the catalytic converter.
