The mechatronics unit contains sensors, solenoids, valves, processors, and other electronic components that work together to manage the transmission's operation. It receives input signals from various sensors throughout the vehicle, such as speed sensors, throttle position sensors, and engine load sensors, to determine the optimal gear selection and timing for shifting. If your mechatronics unit has a failed component, the whole unit must be replaced as BMW does not provide individual components. This Mechatronic Repair Kit includes the basic items necessary to replace your unit, including the mechatronics unit itself, a transmission pan, filter, and gasket, plus a new electrical socket connector.
