The Variant 1 is KW's basic simple and effective coil over kit that is still packed with lots of features -

Pre-set damping optimized for a blend of ride comfort and handling with less bodyroll than the standard suspension,

Stainless steel strut/shock bodies and composite spring perches for superior corrossion resistance,

Individually height-adjustable - Front = 25-50mm lowering; Rear = 30-55mm lowering,

TUV approved lowering range and operation,

Expert engineering and design for ease-of-use and long durability,
This is the ideal coil over kit for a F30 owner who does not plan on tracking or autocrossing the car and just wants a lower, more aggressive stance and better handling. KW has set the shock damping rates to be an excellent balance for a smooth yet taut ride, and to resist bodyroll motions for better handling. The Variant 1 differs from the Street Comfort set in that it has stiffer springs and revised shock settings. If you want a sportier ride and better handling than stock the Variant 1 is an excellent choice.

Coil over suspensions are better engineered suspension options compared to a standard shock + spring package. Since the springs and shocks in a coil over are designed by a team of engineers to work together, there is much better suspension travel and more precisely tuned specifications for spring and shock rates. Using separate shock and spring specs may result in premature coil bind or shock bottoming. And most coil over kits offer more features than the traditional packages. Coil overs are also more useful when larger wheels/tires are used because you can precisely set the ride heights to clear the new tires.

Fitment Note: Wheel spacers may be required depending on wheel/tire sizing and ride height setting.
Cars with the factory EDC electronic adjustable shocks must have the system disabled with the optional KW EDC Cancellation Kit (or similar). This is a direct fit for cars without EDC.

On vehicles that use front struts only, BC Racing provides an inverted front strut and then provides an upright BR Series damper for the rear. Inverted dampers are useful in decreasing unsprung weight by moving the greatest mass of the strut to the top where it connects to the sprung weight of the chassis, where weight can be more easily shaved. The rear damping adjuster on coilovers is usually hidden under a bunch of hard to reach interior panels requiring you to remove carpet, panels and sometimes even the rear seat back in order to adjust the dampening on your BC rear coilovers. The BC Racing rear extender adjuster allow you to make these adjustments without removing the rear interior. Simple make two small holes in the interior above the adjuster and the extension can be passed through the interior panels. Now the adjustments can be performed from above.

Fine-tuning your coilover damping shouldn’t mean stripping out your rear seats or interior panels. On many applications, rear shock adjusters are hidden behind carpet, trim, or seatbacks, making quick adjustments a hassle.

The ECS Rear Damping Extension Kit solves that problem with a clean and functional solution. These flexible extensions relocate the adjustment knobs to an easily accessible point above the rear shock towers, letting you dial in your suspension from inside the cabin, no disassembly required.

Installation is straightforward: simply drill a small access hole in your interior trim and route the extension cables through. The adjustment knobs can be removed to allow the line to pass through smaller openings, minimizing cutting. For proper installation, be sure to fully loosen the set screw, insert the cable, then securely tighten it using the provided Allen key.
