Constant Pressure Valve for E46 M3, MZ3 (S54), and Z4 M

Oil leak on the E46 M3? The constant pressure valve, or oil pressure relief valve, is the most likely reason. This screw valve, located on the rear of the engine block behind the #2 header, has an o-ring that becomes flat over time, allowing oil to leak around it and down the back of your engine, transmission, undertray, and eventually to your driveway. If you see an oil leak around your transmission and think it's the rear main seal or from the oil pan, try replacing this first. Replacement is the only remedy as the o-ring is not available separately from BMW. This is an Original BMW part. One required.
