As the mileage goes up more and more stress is put on this sheetmetal and it can actually tear away from the rest of the chassis. Look for lttle cracks originating from the mouning holes. This reinforcement plate helps spread the shock loads around the sheetmetal and reduce stress in localized areas. Price is for the pair.
