MEYLE-ORIGINAL: True to OE rear upper strut mount. The upper strut mount connects the top of the strut assembly to the strut tower of the vehicle. The upper mount along with the upper spring perch or pad top off a strut and spring combo. The spring must usually be compressed to be installed or removed safely and successfully. For this reason great care must be taken and proper tools used when removing or replacing upper strut mounts from strut assemblies. A bearing or bushing in the mount is typical in top mounts and is a wear item that can result in poor suspension performance and popping or clicking noises when turning the wheels.
