A very common weak point on the 3 series BMW is the sheetmetal of the rear shock tower. The sheetmetal here is relatively thin and very susceptible to stress and fatigue. A worn out shock will bottom-out more often and this energy is transferred through the bump stop and into the metal chassis. Stiffer shocks and shock mounts also put more stress on the sheetmetal. Factor in age, mileage, and environmental conditions and it's not a surprise that we see shock tower failures often. BMW addressed this issue with reinforcements of their own but our's are thicker for additional strength. This kit mounts on top of the shock tower and can either be bolted or welded in place. Because of the shape of the rear shock tower, these do not fit cabrio/convertible cars.

The rear mounts in BMW 3 series fail, no matter what year from 1983 to present, that is a weak point of the suspension. Here's the solution. The 3 Series "Repair Shop" Rear Shock Mounts carry a lifetime warranty and will last as long as you own your car. Expect the same comfortable ride you have with factory mounts. These are an inexpensive alternative to expensive factory mounts.

These SPL parts adjustable rear camber arms replace OEM part number 33326770813 These rear camber arms allow for significantly greater camber adjustment over stock, a major benefit to lowered cars that need their camber readjusted to prevent tire wear and poor handling. These camber arms also provide increased stability and predictability versus the stock camber arms with rubber bushings. SPL Parts is a performance suspension manufacturer that designs and tests their products all in-house here in the USA. These rear camber arms from SPL parts utilize gun drilled 6061-T6 Aluminum center links, clamps, and clevises, along with Blue Anodized Titanium socket head cap screws and a 360 degree rotating clamp system. This provides optimal strength, performance, durability, and adjustment simplicity. SPL's adjustment design makes it simple to lock in your alignment settings, requiring only a 3/16" allen key! Features custom 3 piece FK bearings and rod ends manufactured in Connecticut - these also utilize a teflon liner which promotes quiet operation, low friction, and smooth articulation while eliminating bushing deflection under load. The motor mount area on a subframe is one of those easily-forgotton areas that may be hiding a serious problem. The subframe on the E46 has a gusset ('ear') welded on for the motor mounts. These gussets take the stress of the motor mount as the engine torques (more upgrades = more torque = more stress). Worn motor mounts only transfer more stress to the subframe. Unfortunately, the sheetmetal will fatigue over time even though the gusset is reinforced from the factory. Check for cracks along the welds and an uneven plane from the subframe to the gusset. A total failure of the guesset will shift your engine to the side and forward, taking out many other components along the way and leading to a very costly repair.

The next time you replace the motor mounts, oil pan gasket, checking your oil pump nut, or any other time you drop the front subframe, you should install these reinforcements. This kit comes with steel reinforcing plates that are welded to the underside of the guesset as well as plates to close off the bottom of the gusset for extra strength. Instructions included.

This is a direct replacement for the factory BMW rear shock mount reinforcement, as equipped by BMW on Z3 models. This also fits all E36 and E46 models as well. Turner Motorsport makes our own that are thicker but these can also do a good job of preventing cracks and deformation of the rear shock towers. Priced per reinforcement plate.
