This Bushing Upgrade Kit is a direct-fit, comprehensive chassis overhaul engineered for the 2001–2006 BMW E46 M3 (Coupe and Convertible). This kit replaces the soft, failure-prone factory rubber bushings with a precise combination of CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum mounts, sealed OEM-grade spherical monoball bearings, and high-durometer polyurethane differential mounts. It is designed to bolt directly into factory locations on the rear axle carrier and trailing arms with absolutely no welding, cutting, or permanent chassis modifications required.
How It Works

Eliminates Subframe Flex: The solid aluminum mounts rigidly lock the subframe to the chassis. This stops the flexing that causes the notorious E46 rear floor sheet metal to fatigue and crack, while keeping your suspension geometry completely constant mid-corner.
Locks in Alignment: The sealed spherical monoball bearings deliver smooth, zero-bind vertical suspension movement. While rubber allows variance in suspension position due to deformation and compression, Monoball bearings ensure your toe and camber settings stay exactly where you set them, giving you predictable, telegraphic feedback through your seat.
Cures Wheel Hop: High-durometer polyurethane is used selectively at the differential mounts. It allows just enough deflection to damp high-frequency driveline shock and eliminate violent wheel hop, protecting your differential bolts while transferring power directly to the pavement, not into the chassis.

Turner Tips:
The Freezer Trick: The day before your install, throw the aluminum subframe mounts into the freezer. The billet aluminum will shrink by just a few thousandths of an inch, Making install into the subframe have significantly less force and zero binding.
Lube the Poly with Silicone Only: When installing the polyurethane differential mounts, use a high-quality, water-resistant silicone or fluorocarbon-based grease. Never use standard petroleum-based grease. Petroleum will chemically break down polyurethane over time and cause squeaks.
Invest in a Bushing Cup/Press Tool Kit: Perfect Alignment is KEY! Do not try to caveman this job with a hammer, a blowtorch, and a block of wood. To prevent you from marring the subframe bores, Snag a universal master bushing receiver/cup tool kit such as T#: 580410
Prep the Bores and Inspect the Floor: Once the old factory bushings are pressed out, take some emery cloth or a Scotch-Brite pad and clean any rust or debris out of the subframe bores so the new mounts have a clean mating surface. While the subframe is completely out of the way, inspect for the notorious E46 subframe hairline cracks around the mounting points and add Subframe Reinforcement Kit and Top-Side Rear Subframe Brace.
